Donovan and the crew were awesome and put my wife and me on some large Manitoba Greenbacks during our trip out on the ice. Even though we are new to fishing on Winnipeg they were patient with us and showed us the ropes. Great service and made sure we were still being productive on slower days (even the slowest of Lake Winnipeg is much more busy than what we got at home). Both guides we had worked tirelessly to make sure we knew where we had to move to keep on top of the fish. Filled a freezer, landed many over slot, learned a ton, and landed two masters on the last day. I could not ask for a better trip. I cannot wait to go back and get some cats on open water. If you want to maximize your chance at a big one then Blackwater is your best bet.

Haven't used their services, mainly because any day I've seen them on the river they're bombing around washing out other boats that are trying to have a nice day on the water. Zero boat etiquette. In regards to the owners response... lmao you clearly have used that excuse a lot, but what I'm referring to is there could be 3 boats on that stretch of river, and you'll still go bombing past everyone, just to get some laughs out of whatever american tourist you've managed to get on your boat that day. Your reputation in the area speaks for itself. Keep the boat at the dock if you don't understand etiquette.

There are no guarantees with fishing, but Donavan at Blackwater Cats will put you on the fish. We were up at Hecla Island on Lake Winnipeg on Thursday. We must have been surrounded by at least 20 boats. Other boats were catching the occasional fish, but we were hammering the walleye. Finished the day with 5 master angler walleye and well over 100 fish caught. We look forward to booking again with Blackwater Cats.

Dominic (owner of Blackwater Cats) was our guide today and we had an absolute blast. Boated over 40 fish with multiple master angler awards. We did an 8hr trip, everything but food and drinks were provided. Extremely nice boat, rods, reels, and tackle. You wont be disappointed booking with blackwater

Unbelievable experience with Donovan at Blackwater Cats! Put me and my brother-in-law on more monster cats than we could handle. Our arms were sore after a half day smash. Great gear, and even better guy. Super knowledgeable too. Would definitely recommend. Even fit us in last minute in a busy schedule. I’ll be going back for sure.

Kenny was our guide today Saturday July 16th. He was simply amazing the best experience Jocelyne and I have ever had. Jocelyne caught 2 master anglers. We will be booking again for a walleye fishing trip come September.
