Bear River Vineyards

What a gem! I would love to say we stumbled across this winery as that would make the story even better, but we actually have been planning to visit here for years. We were not disappointed! The property is stunning. The tour and history of the vineyard was intriguing and very well told by Darren and Sue. They have done an outstanding job maintaining the property and honouring the history. There are many plans to grow the business that will be exciting to watch and give even more reason to go back again. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the wine! We tasted three wines and made sure to stock up before we left.

A beautiful converted barn turned winery. The winery tour was informative -- it was cool to learn about the gravity flow winemaking process and the history of the building and the land. We had a tasting after and bought a bottle of wine to take home! Owners were super friendly and welcoming.

I would highly recomend this place and would for sure consider going back. We stayed there for a couple of nights in the guest room and it was a relaxing experience. Darren and Sue were absolutely lovely and welcoming. They were so accomodating, allowing us to freely pick when we wanted the tour and tasting that came as complimentary with our booking whenever we wanted, even though we arrived after they closed for the day and the next day was a public holiday.I couldn't speak more highly for them being welcoming and pleasant hosts. We were so fascinated by the story of the place and how it had been renovated into a winery. Go for the red Emboldened 2017 bottle!

What a gem! The views, knowledge of fruit, friendly customer service and tasty beverages makes this a 5 star, in my book. Picked up a variety box, including their award winning Bearly Baco!

Surprisingly good and worthwhile stop if your in the area. Staff was welcoming and informative and provided a good wine-tasting for $5/person.The location is a really cool converted barn, overlooking the vineyards. The town also has cafes, art galleries so there are a few other places to visit in this stop over.Definitely recommended.

Darrin and his wife welcomed us with top notch hospitality and offered a spectacular wine selection. This is a must try vineyard in the area, I can’t recommend it enough!

Booked two nights here for the Canada Day weekend on a whim. We could not have been happier with our experience. The views and hospitality were amazing. There is only one guest suite which makes it great for a private getaway. The room was great with a bottle of wine and local coffee provided. Best of all was the wine. The hosts provide a tour and tasting and the offerings were all fantastic. We loved the Emboldened Red and the Greater Yellowlegs white. Would absolutely do it again.

Such a cute winery with a fantastic view! Delicious wine too! Stopped in for a flight and the staff was sp friendly!
