Brother Chiu's Chinese Food

Ordered food on 27 Nov 20. Web site is easy to use. Food came in the time promised. Food was excellent! Very happy. We will likely make this our go to Chinese Food restaurant in Barrhaven.

A friend recommended this spot and glad they did. The food was fantastic, didn't make you feel too heavy and the variety of dishes we ordered all tasted great. Will order again !

Delicious Cantonese food!! So happy to have found a takeout spot that does more traditional dishes. The braised beef and daikon was amazing! The oyster mushrooms were nice and thick in the chicken and mushroom dish which I appreciated! Definitely will be back!

Had Brother Chiu's for Lunar New Year this year and have been a regular patron for a few years now. While it was incredibly busy as expected, Brother's kitchen did not disappoint. If you want Canadian-style, or authentic Chinese food there is something here for you. Always contains quality ingredients and is a delicious meal no matter what I order.It reminds me of Ruby Inn, in its heyday. While Ruby's is still good, Brother Chiu's has become my new favorite South End take out option over the years. Portions are good, large pieces of chicken (even when deep fried) and tender beef leave me craving my next visit. Fresh vegetables cooked to perfection. Food is always consistent and made with care. Front desk is always helpful and kind. Food worth waiting for.

Brother Chiu's have always been my go-to over the past couple years since my move to Ottawa.I've never physically visited this restaurant, it has always been take-out via UberEats & DoorDash. Their quality is consistent, portion is generous, and is next to the closest authentic Chinese food I can find in my area!What led me to leaving this review was because of the Boiled Spicy Fish Filet I ordered tonight. I regularly used to order this traditional dish from Spicy Ho Ho, but recently noticed they no longer include the clear noodles inside it. I called into this restaurant before placing my order and the girl confirmed they could add it into the dish, while the other place pretty much said too bad. I’ve never finished the entire dish before because the portion is huge, but it’s actually SO good from this place that I will ONLY order it from here from now on!If you're looking for a Chinese / HK style food for dinner in Ottawa, I highly recommend giving this place a try! ⭐️

Good portions for the price. 10% off pickup orders and free chicken fried rice on orders over $45. Only 2 people allowed inside at once but there's ample parking.

So excited to finally have found an amazing place for Chinese take-out. The prices are great for the large portions sizes. The food is amazing. 4 adults got 2 whole meals out of: 4a family combo, lemon chicken, shrimp fried dumplings, and seafood congee. It was all delicious. Loved that the sauces were on the side, so nothing was soggy for leftovers. I will definitely be returning and would recommend Brother Chiu's to everyone.

The food is consistently good, however their timing is consistently late. You can order hours ahead of time, it doesn’t matter. They will never hit your pickup time. Never. They just don’t value punctuality.

Was excited to try this place based on the great reviews and impressive menu selection. However, each dish was severely under-seasoned (except for the awesome half fried chicken that came with its own dipping salt).I actually added a little vegetable oil and sprinkled generous salt on the leftovers the next day—something I've never done before ever! My wife wondered if maybe they ran out of chicken stock?Restaurant fried rice is typically on the greasy side but this one left a completely dry bowl behind. If this wasn't a one-off experience and you find most Chinese food has too much salt and oil you might love this place!

Food is average and on par with the suburban type take out you seem to find in every mall / plaza around here. No complaints, nothing to write home about either. However, they are very poorly organized. On two occasions I’ve been quoted 20-30 minutes only to have to wait over an hour for a small order. If it’s delayed, or volume is high to staff on site, just say so and it’s understandable. To have to wait another 30-40 minutes in a packed storefront of upset customers is no fun.
