DA CHICKEN CRIBB

This place was recommended by a friend and OMGoodness - it was awesome!!We had the lunch special and it’s a lot of food for the money ($8)!!Perfectly cooked fried chicken (crispy & juicy) and not greasy at all. You get a choice of either spicy or mild sauce. Both look the same and taste like mango/habanero(?) with the spicy one having just a little more heat - like a thicker & more flavourful honey-hot wing sauce.We also had rice and plantains instead of fries and both were yummy. Also carry a unique variety of drinks too. The guy cooking and serving was a blast to deal with as well.Unfortunately they are also known for their cheesecake but alas none available today.Just gives us another reason to go back again soon! ;)

First time trying this place. This is a mom and son fry shop, with only one person working, not a franchise or chain restaurant. Don’t expect food in 5 min, we waited about 15 min. The chicken special was fresh and fries were fantastic. Veggie roti with fried plantains was excellent as well. Try it and decide for yourself.

Been here twice as I like to give places a second shot. Both times the fried chicken was horrendous, completely dried out to the point of not being edible. Worst chicken I have ever had to eat.One time I arrived just after opening so obviously the chicken was from the previous day.Lady was nice enough but the food wasn’t up to standard.Another strange thing was the dirty construction workers that constantly walked through the prepping area. Not sure what the deal is with that. As a tradesperson myself i don’t appreciate unclean people being near food.

Check the other 1-star ratings. This seems to be a trend here.They microwave and reheat a bunch of their food instead of making it fresh. I saw it happen in front of my eyes since they were late in preparing the food for my pick up time. If you go when they open, the fried chicken you get might be re-fried leftover from the day before. It was dry and tasteless. The sauces they use are super processed and obviously not freshly made in anyway. You'd honestly have better luck going to McDonalds rather than try this place in my opinion. At least at McDonalds they'll make your food on time (they were late for me too and I wasted time to eat mediocre microwaved & re-heated food).

Best dinning experience in Ottawa. The the chicken is a 10/10. The fries are a 10/10. The jerk sauce is a 10/10. Although its a tiny restaurant with very few tables, the atmosphere is great. An authentic experience. Customer service is great.

Small family style business, a great neighbourhood type restaurant where you walk to on a nice summer evening or grab food on the way home. Fried chicken with the the bbq sauce was excellent, juicy and just the right amount of spice. The roti, finally I'm eating good roti again, so happy. I will return.

Wow! Absolutely delicious and such great prices. My boyfriend and I got the Whole Jerk Chicken platter with rice, sautéed vegetables, macaroni pie and a side of plantains. I can’t wait to come back and try different items on the menu.

Ordered the lunch special of 2 chicken pieces with fries for $7.99 for each family member. Everyone loved it. Chicken wasn't too thickly battered, juicy and tender. Spicy sauce had just the right kick. Fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A bit of a wait with one person ahead of me. Owner, who was the only person working, said he'll be hiring more staff. We'll definitely be going back for more.
