Boat Rental Dows Lake

Dow's Lake Rentals open 7 days a week, 9am-9pm during the summer. Though last boat currently has to be back to the dock by 7:30pm. Times vary in different seasons. Today I rented a single seat kayak. $25 for the 1st hour, $12 each additional hour. I did a circuit around Dow's lake at a moderate pace in 1 hour, about a little under 5kms. During the week it's so peaceful, I'm sure it's very busy on weekends. The staff were very nice & helpful.

Boats cost around $30 for an hour and it's exactly what you get, I would suggest to avoid the pedal boats as they are harder to control the direction. Boats are of cheap quality and water gets in all the boats, I mean any boat choice you make.

Giving the extra star just because the staff is really great, girls were nice patient and helpful. Everything else was yuck.The lake is full of weed and honestly looks dirty, if you use the paddleboat you can easily get stuck and need to be rescued (they do warn you about this), The pier/wood is neglected and should be completely replaced , it just gets patched and doesn’t really look safe. The paddle boat leaks water and you get your shoes wet, the life west are absolutely disgusting (i dont overly care about my own but they could at least get new ones for the kids) i saw the staff sanitizing them but it doesn’t change the fact that they are overused and should be replaced. Hated putting it on my toddler. Anyways, this seemed more like a 3rd world country experience and not something done in the heart of canadian capital. Stay away.

My sister and I rented a peddle boat. What a hoot! We peddled and peddle in a circle. And peddled and peddled in another circle, we did this for an hour. We laughed so hard, we just loved it.Thank you to the people at Boat rental Dows Lake you guys were great
