Overall, this is a good bike. But it does have some issues that come to light quickly after three to six months of ownership. One of which is the weight of the bike. Riding around on a heavy bike can take its toll on certain connections with the bike. Within four to six weeks, the control panel came lose and fell off the bike. The bike is not well designed for bumpy riding; especially any type of off-road riding. So be aware that vibration and knocking around can loosen small connections on the bike and these connections are really hard to fix; especially the chain guard connection which came lose after three months.The bigger issue with DOST has to do with follow-on service. They cannot keep up and it is very difficult to get something shipped. This happened to me twice – once with the extra battery order and then I finally gave up with replacement brakes. They simply are not able to execute on any follow-up shipments you need. So be aware of the poor after the sale service.A final point – DOST bikes are manufactured in Taiwan and not Canada. It can be a little deceptive to think you are supporting manufacturing jobs in Canada. Regardless, the bike is well made, but there are definite pain points that I think people should be aware of.

Highly recommend! First off, a beautiful bike that meets all my needs. But equally as important, AMAZING customer service. Had a few questions after taking the the bike home and riding for a few weeks. They sent Steven, a fantastic, knowledgeable Service Technician who patiently explained every aspect. He brought a similar bike to the hill that was giving me the concern and compared performance. If you want a high quality ebike with excellent customer service, deal with Dost.

This company seems to have great bikes but I may never know. I ordered my bike over 35 days ago. At this time of purchase I was quote 10-14 days for delivery. Since that time I have called the company over a dozen times and gotten a different story each time. I’m afraid this experience will transfer over if there should be any issues with my bike, if it ever arrives. If you are looking for good, reliable customer service for such a big purchase, look elsewhere. This company charged my card the day the order was made and hasn’t even shipped the accessories I ordered, which they confirmed to be in stock at the time of my order.

My bike is at 4000km. It needed a little TLC maintenance. Steven’s initial inspection was great. He took the time to listen to my concerns. Explained what he was going to do to remedy the issue. Turns out the bearings in my crank were failing.He also found some other minor issues to be addressed and corrected them as well. Making the visit very efficient so I don’t have to come back for a while.And again Sam was I so he made a point of coming down to say Hello.GREAT TEAMWORK. The shop is super clean. Always an awesome experience

Purchased a Dost CVT Drop. Gorgeous bike! Researched everything I could find on it so I would have a better cycling experience. Ended up with 3 questions I couldn’t find an answer for so set up a meeting in the Virtual Showroom with Steven Depret. Awesome, awesome experience. Professional, friendly, well thought out answers and responses to my questions and even showed my how to disconnect and reconnect the throttle. I cycled for years, then quit due to work demands. While I have always enjoyed bike folks, some techs have shown little patience with seniors like me. Not at Dost. So glad I bought a Dost!

Edit: As of July 6, 2023 the money has been refunded back.Ordered the Kope CVT on May 12, 2023 as I was the bike would ship in June, 2023. Canceled my order on May 30, 2023 as I was told there was a delay and the bike would not ship until August, 2023. It is July 4, 2023 at the time of this review and I have not received a refund for my order despite being told it would be issued, shortly." When will I get my refund

We own two Dost bikes and have put on 500 km in the last few monthsThe standard battery seems plenty strong enough and after 3-4 hours of riding there is still well above 50% battery left.We recently had our first service done at Dost and the bike are built so well that only minor adjustments needed to be completed.The service technician let us know of what to look for in the future as well.All in all we are very pleased with our purchase.

DOST makes amazing electric bikes.My DOST Drop CVT has set me free. I reviewed so many electric bikes before I made the right decision with DOST

Bike broke after 5 miles. Took dost 10 days to get parts to indiana after they told me they shipped “3day air”. Got repaired bike today and ready for a real review. First the good. Very solid frame comfortable to ride seat that comes with it is ok but most will replace it. Very strong motor. This is not a bike to ride around slowly in subdivisions. It longs for the open road. I set it to 9 levels of power as level 1 is too powerful for riding flat roads in 5 levels. Goes up very big hill’s easily. Display readout bright and easy to read. Now the not so good. Kinda noisy. More motor noise an clunks every time you shift or brake. Shifter has no indicator to tell you what gear your in. You can live without it but i miss it. The throttle will not work if your pedaling. I have owned and ridden several other brands that would work while pedaling leaving it pointless to have unless you want to make a moped out of it IMO. Really think a bike this expensive should have a better derailleur than the x series but it does shift well. Thats my thoughts. Ready to put many more miles on it now but don’t expect quick service if something goes wrong

I'm sure Dost bikes are great but this review isn't about the bikes, it's about the poor customer service, or lack thereof in this store.I was interested in buying an e-bike so I entered. The employee seemed to be chit chatting with two people, possible customers. I was not even acknowledged. After waiting 5 minutes and having been completely ignored despite being a customer wanting to buy an e-bike. I eventually walked out. Later that day I went over to Trek Bicycles and was instantly greeted, educated on e-bikes, and even given opportunity to test ride. Guess who got my business; it wasn't Dost.
