Festival of Friends

This is a wonderful event to attend. Over the many years there have been many famous bands that have played at this festival. What is more amazing is that it is free entry to this festival and is run off of donations from many people and organizations. There is a wide variety of vendors to to visit while shopping. There are plenty of unique food trucks and vendors to choose from as well.

This festival began in the late 1970's and has been held yearly since then on the weekend following the holiday weekend in August. For many years it was held in beautiful Gage Park but moved to the Ancaster Fairgrounds for a few years before moving back to Gage Park. In the earlier years it was an exceptionally great music & arts festival where the children's programming involved them in artistic endeavours, but later became commercialized with typical amusement rides. The music remained strong, though, with many amazing Canadian indie performers. For many years there were several smaller stages in beautiful wooded settings and the intent is to return to these to accompany main stage performances.
