Wayne's Bagels

I was really excited to try these bagels but it’s definitely not worth the hype. I stood for 10 minutes waiting for my order to be taken even though there was no line up. I couldn’t believe I wasn’t acknowledged by either staff members. When one staff member finally took my order, I got the eggs benedict with salmon, on a sesame bagel. The cost was 12.50 and it definitely wasn’t worth the money. It was extremely bland and I definitely won’t be returning. Service sucks and so does the food.

I was so excited to try these bagels, having found a love of bagels in NYC. My mom waxed poetic about Wayne's from years ago, so of course I had to hunt these down .I was so disappointed.My everything and garlic bagels were disconcertingly sweet. Syrupy, even. They smelled absolutely delectable, which added insult to injury when I bit into it and it tasted sweet.The sweet bagels were good, though a touch flavorless (the cranberry especially).Maybe it was an off day? I'll try it again, but for now it's left a sweet taste in my mouth I don't wish to try again.

As I do anytime I get a bagel, I will order the everything. So it was no change when I ordered from Wayne’s bagels. The next morning, when I am about to have a bagel for breakfast, I grab one of the everything bagels. To my surprise it had cinnamon on it. I thought okay maybe it got mixed up, but no every one of them had cinnamon. This doesn’t seem like a big issue, however I am unfortunately allergic to cinnamon. After calling and being able to speak to the owner, Wayne. I will NEVER be coming back again. I mentioned on the call that I just didn’t seen any signage about what was on the everything bagel and explained how I was allergic to cinnamon. He apologized for my allergies but quickly stopped me and said that he’s been doing this since 1996 and he doesn’t need to label things. When I said that everything bagels typically usually only have toppings like sesame seeds, poppyseeds, onion flakes and some salt and pepper he again interrupted me saying that he was from Montreal. I guess since he’s from Montreal he knows better than me, a random guy, who also grew up in Montreal.Save yourself the money and go to Tim Hortons.

Very poor customer service from staff. I approached just over 20min after opening and waited a while before I was greeted (totally fine, people are busy). After I said hello, the staff member said “no sandwhiches for another 15 minutes” (no problem, wasn’t looking for a sandwhich, just one bagel of any flavour to take away plain). I said that’s no problem and that I wasn’t looking for a sandwhich, and asked if it was possible to just get a regular bagel (not in sandwhich form). The woman scoffed and said it would take her 15 minutes to find a “plain” bagel. I tried to clarify that any of the bagels in sight would be great and that I was looking for bagel with nothing on it, not a “plain bagel” that she could not locate for 15 minutes. I was polite but each time I tried to speak, she interrupted me or told me to come back in 15 minutes. At that point I decided my money would be better spent at one of the other wonderful vendors with great service. I understand people can feel busy and overworked (I’ve been there) but it was nearly half hour after opening and this woman was extremely rude and condescending. I definitely won’t be back and by the sounds of many similar poor reviews, I’m not alone.

Wayne's Bagels has the best cream cheeses I've ever tasted and I highly recommend you go buy a tub of your favorite flavour and then go make your bagel at home. Even though they have great cream cheese it will take you 20 minutes to get a bagel if there's even one person in front of you because they are the slowest workers I've ever seen, and seem to have something against serving more than one customer at a time. On multiple occasions I've stood at the counter and watched the girl drink coffee waiting for somebody's bagel to toast rather than start the next customers order. They also act like you're bothering them by ordering because they have better things to do. The bagels themselves are fine but they always burn them. I've never tipped because the people there are genuinely rude and bad at their jobs. I'll buy their cream cheese but that's about it.

Long waits, expensive bagels, and they were stale. Crunchy af on the outside and barely edible on the inside. I don't know if they are always this way or if it was a bad day but not comparable to Montreal bagels... or even bagels from the grocery store, or tim horti s.

Bought a pack of bagels from the farmers market and was enjoying it the next morning. Delicious bagels but looked down on my last bite, and found a hair BAKED into the bagel. Tried to pull it out, but it was really baked into it. Disgusting.

Enjoyed a bagel sandwich for lunch - sooo good! We visited the Wayne’s Bagels at Crossroads Farmers Market, highly recommend.
