I live in Toronto and always keep my stopover at Taj Bistro whenever I cross Barrie. The food prepared is delicious and beautifully cooked by chef - Varun and Akash. Brilliant efforts in terms of taste and the preparation. With the front desk, I have always been greeted by soft spoken Simoni who is great with the customer service skills. The staff members are definitely doing their hard work and increasing the reputation of the restaurant. My 5 stars to this lovely place because of these 3 wonderful staffs who put in their every effort to keep the customer happy :).

My review is based on a single takeout in March 2023. We ordered 2 butter chickens, 1 chicken tikka masala, 3 garlic naans, and 1 plain rice.Both butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were very tasty and not oily. However, chicken breast was very dry and I would've preferred dark chicken thigh meat instead. The spices they use are good though. Both dishes were very tasty.Garlic naan was pretty bad. They were plain and flat, as opposed to fluffy and flavourful. I'm not sure if it has to do with their tandoor or not but I've had much better garlic naans elsewhere.Plain rice was nothing to write home about. I wish they added some garlic to add flavour but the price is right and the portion was enough for 6 people.Please note that a medium takeout container is pretty small. It's not big enough for multiple people. Please refer to the photo with my hand next to one for scale.Overall, this restaurant serves tasty Indian food, but they need to do something about their naans. I've tried better tasting naans that are fluffy and fresh. I know it can be done. It's a matter of will on the part of the chef and the owner.

A considerable location for Indian food if you’re in Barrie. I went there for breakfast and found the place comforting, clean and inviting. I ordered Chana Bhatura which was really delicious and the quantity was amazing as the quantity they served for channa is the same they serve in the main course. A little complaint that the bhatura was very oily and dripping, however the taste was amazing and sufficient for two. Ordered buttermilk and shikanji as well and they were also above average. The buttermilk they served was at room temperature and could have been colder. Overall, great authentic Indian taste in the dishes they serve.

Decided to try Taj Bistro for the first time, ordered delivery thru Ubereats. Food took over an hour and half to arrive, even though we live only 10 minutes away. The foil wrapped naan was burnt, already cold and chewy, and the curry was barely lukewarm. While the flavours were good, the portion sizes were remarkably small, especially compared to their nearby competition. A 'medium' sized lamb korma cost $17.59, and came in a foil container roughly the size of the bottom half of a small square Styrofoam take-out box. Despite tasting marginally better than other local Indian restaurants, and while I also appreciated that it wasn't overly greasy, I wasn't satisfied with the value at all. We might try the dine-in restuarant someday to see if there's a difference in quality and quantity, but tonight's dinner was a disappointment.

We came here at 1 for lunch. Welcomes us by a beautiful girl and she was so hospitable. I personally like chana bature. And the food was amazing. My friends ordered butter chicken and naan which were good aswell. But the quantity of the butter chicken was less for the price. Seems little expensive when compared to other indian stores. However overall experience was pretty good.

Food is good but prices have gone up, while portions have gone down. Half of what I though was chicken was actually potato so very deceiving. Their $10.99 winter special advertisement in store and on the outside window continues to be posted despite the fact that it is not available and hasn’t been for a year. Disappointed that they still do not offer dine-in.
