I’m a member and have been to almost all the climbing centres in the city, the SoCal is great for bouldering, friendly staff and great facility. The only downside that makes coming here unenjoyable is the music; it is very inappropriate at this location compared to all other locations. 90% of the time the songs have heavy profanity and vulgar language. Not only are there minors who attend but overall not appropriate.

It is a modern, colourful, loud, non-linear climbing gym. There is a good variations of non-linear climbing surfaces and wall angles. The style of climbing here is more enjoyable. Also the lighting in this gym is very special. Great place to climb for both casual and advanced levels.

Sweet gym. Second largest CCC gym in Calgary. Better than Chinook, less kids, less busy. Always friendly staff and a lot more climbs that they switch four times a week. Don’t come here so I can have a quiet climb.

Usually toilet is not something that comes up in mind whichever places I go to. but the layout of the toilet, sink and locker in this place blows my mind. The place is clean, spacious and airy, the gym area is very spacious, clean and comfortable as well. The bouldering problem is great on the slabs, and on the big overhang near the entrance, but beside that, the other problems are only challenging only because of the crimps (c4 c5), overall this gym is great for checking your finger strength. time to train my fingers!

Excellent bouldering gym. They do a good job of rotating new routes with the old. I just wish there was a bike stand so I could ride my bike there as the parking lot is pretty small.

Absolute best bouldering experience I’ve had. Climbs are fresh with static and dynamic movements and there are a variety of routes for all levels. Staff is so friendly and clearly have a passion for climbing. This will be my go-to gym whenever I’m back in Calgary!

Very fun gym with great setting, loads of board training options, and a very nice roof. They have climbing for every skill level and have a good amount of comp-style boulders as well. Facilities were pristine and staff were very friendly. If you are passing through Calgary, this gym is a must-go!

Got to experience this new gym in all its glory and epicness. The space is large and there’s lots of room for climbing activities and socializing. Right from when you walk in to seeing the lights and the colors and the music vibes, this gym is definitely a really cool bouldering experience. I’ve had the pleasure of going to other locations and CCC does not disappoint. Originally I thought SoCal was for Southern California I had no idea it also meant Southern Calgary (haha out of towner here). There was a lot of variety in problems and difficulties for everyone in my party to enjoy. I think the colors and the designs on the mats are very unique. The lighting creates a nice mood and atmosphere that gets you hype to get on the wall. One thing I would have liked to see is a few easier graded problems on the overhang so I could attempt that angle on a more chill route. I found that it all the routes set there were quite high to max difficulty.Changing rooms were well thought out, ample lockers and bathrooms.Overall this is a great gym for anyone to try.

Beautiful facility, friendly staff. They rotate which walls change and update routes frequently, so there's plenty of time to find a project or try new routes. The climbers at this gym are mostly friendly and social, you could probably ask anyone for tips and they'd help you out. I've seen children climbing and everyone's been very patient with curious little ones (and new older climbers). Not a lot of parking out front. It's right across from C-Train, so street parking is limited and their lot is small. There is more parking around back with the shopping centre though.Another feature I love: lockers/bathroom are gender neutral. That means the change rooms and toilets have full doors that close and lock (no weird cracks or gaps!!) and no one is excluded. It feels very safe and clean.

SoCal is such a rad gym! Your team did an incredible job with the design and layout. The routesetting was very fun and engaging. With a wicked initial hold selection.I love the idea of the RGP lights. I think it adds a really cool visual experience I’ve never experienced in any climbing gym. I found it can make it tricky in some sections with specific hold colours in close proximity. E.g., blue and purple holds with a blue light was hard to differentiate in one area. But I was told that there is some tweaking with the controllers to come. The audio setup sounds crisp and paired with the lighting; I’m psyched to see the community events that happen in the future.Climbing on the adjustable boards you can feel them bounce. Which isn’t ideal but they are still fun to climb on. Plus having the Kilter board, kilter home wall, tension board and the spray wall all in the centre is wicked.Overall this facility is one of the best I have seen in North America. With some time to refine the rest of the details I’m sure SoCal will be a major community hub for climbers.
