Karah Kennels

Karah Kennels is great, bought a great goldendoodle puppy from them and they were great. We had set it up so as a christmas gift from Santa for our 4 year old and they played along to make the experience even better. They also knew we were coming from hours away and with a snowstorm coming allowed us to pick up early on new years day saving us a lot of white knuckle driving. Can't say enough about them, thoroughly impressed I can tell from our puppy they cared and took care of the puppies really well.

Our beautiful St. Berdoodle, Murphy, was born October 26, 2016 from Willa and Bogart's first litter. We picked up our sweet boy on December 23rd from Karah Kennels. From day one he was easy to train, lovable and to date has such a great temperament. At our first vet appointment we found out that he was not micro-chipped, even though Karah Kennels said he would be. We decided to let this go and not bother contacting the breeder as it was a small issue that was not a huge cost, though I'm sure that was considered in the price we paid for him at $1,500.Between May and June, Murphy started crying a lot. Some days he wouldn't want to leave his bed and we would have to force him out as he cried in order to get him outside and feed him. We noticed he wasn't putting much weight on his back left leg. We thought maybe he had torn a muscle or was injured in some way so we brought him to the vet. Our vet informed us that it could be a multitude of things, but what it most likely was based on his symptoms was Hip Dysplasia, which is a genetic disorder of the hip bones that a dog would be born with. In order to diagnose him properly we paid over $600 for x-rays and for a specialist surgeon to look at them.We now have him on pain meds and joint supplements so that he will build up muscle in his back legs and not become lame. These cost about $200 a month and will be for life. He will also need at least one hip replacement between the ages of 2-5 depending on how rapidly is worsens. Our vet told us this surgery cost her $5,500 8 years ago for her dog (in which she received a 10% discount for being a vet) and that today it would most likely be closer to $7,000.We remembered that in Murphy's add on Kijiji there was a health guarantee for a year included in his purchase, so we contacted Karah Kennels via e-mail in hopes to get some money back to help with our huge vet bills. To our disappointment, we were told that getting a portion of our money back to cover his vet fees was not what the health guarantee is. The health guarantee is a new puppy. This apparently is standard with breeders and it is outrageous. Obviously no one in their right mind would return their dog, who is really a family member, for a new dog. We were also told that if she was going to give us this health guarantee of a new dog that we would have to bring Murphy to be diagnosed by her vet and at our expense. Just ridiculous that she wouldn't trust our vet's diagnosis. It is obviously a way for her to get us to leave her alone so she doesn’t have to deal with the situation. We never heard back from her when we vocalized our disappointment. The least they could do is give us 1/3 of what we paid. It would really be nothing out of their pocket considering they are breeding so many dogs every year. It's basically a glorified puppy mill, with a crazy amount of German Sheppard’s being bred along with all the doodle mixes.We just want people to be aware that this could be an issue with the St. Berdoodles as it is a genetic condition and that Karah Kennels will be of no help if your dog is born with this. I hope no one else has this issue with their puppies.Karen and MattThey also blocked my review on Facebook and blocked me from commenting on anything. We purchased our dog Charlie through Karah about a year and a half ago. I cannot say how wonderful our experience was and has been. Charlie is amazingly healthy, well tempered, easily trainable and affectionate. They allowed us to come to their home and pick him out of the litter at around 6 weeks, and answered all the questions we had. The biggest thing anyone needs to remember when purchasing through a breeder is to read and follow the contract. They simply want to ensure that their dogs are homed and cared for appropriately!We have recommend them and sent others their way and will continue to!

My parents were very excited when they got their puppy. Unfortunately, not long after getting her my dad got diagnosed with cancer. The day after we found out he may have only have months left my mother fell and broke her hip on the way to puppy training. So, given the unexpected helth issues my father found a new home where she could be happy. Not only did he just find out he had cancer and his wife is in the hospital, he now knows he can't care for this puppy given all the unexpected health issues. He found a lovely home for her and we have been given updates on how happy she is.After a month in the hospital my mom is finally home and gets a call saying she owes $2500 because they found out she broke a contract by giving the dog away. They were apparently suppose to return to the dog if they couldn't keep it. My mom explained the situation and that nobody was in the right frame of mind to check or remember what was in a contract. Their concern was to ensure the dog had a happy home and happy life.I recognize there is a contract and this company seems to really like referencing it based on all the responses to negative reviews, but sometimes in business you have to learn to have a heart and realize what the right thing to do is. This is not it!You can claim the best interests of the animal, etc. etc. But, the bottom line is that you care more about making money on a broken contract than on the well-being of this dog.The responses to all the negative reviews here are so unprofessional so I am not expecting much. I just wish my parents had read these reviews before giving them their business.

My husband and I were looking into a dog breeder to purchase our first puppy. We came across Karah Kennels and did extended research on the company including looking at the reviews noted on Facebook. Every person commenting on Karah Kennels via Facebook not only showed photographs of their puppy/dog, but shared their positive experience working with the breeder. I decided to contact Karah Kennels to inquire further about their puppies. I have lost count with how many questions I asked over these last few months! Not only is Karah Kennels incredibly patient, she took her time with every question my husband & I inquired. There is no doubt that they know their dogs very well. We are so excited to have our puppy join our family this September!I wanted to post this review even though our puppy isn’t born yet because of the incredible professionalism and kindness shown by Karah Kennels. It is unfortunate that there are some people wanting to bring this business down by posting inaccurate information. Karah Kennels are knowledgeable, kind, answer every question with detail and have a way of putting a person at ease with the purchase of a puppy!Karan Kennels has our highest recommendation!Andrea & Marcus

Our dog Molly was purchased at Karah Kennels. Everyone that works there were so helpful! They answered all of are questions and gave us tips and pointers on how to take care of our fur baby! Molly is an adorable golden doodle and we love her very much. They relied quickly to all of our emails and questions which there were many of! We highly recommend this kennel!

We just purchased a puppy from Karah Kennels just under 2 weeks ago! Theressa has been amazing. She is very professional, kind and transparent with all the information regarding the puppies and parents. She was great at answering all our questions right from the start and still answers any questions we have regarding our new furbaby.

I recently bought a dog from Karah kennels. They were all lovely people and very helpful! As this was my first time owning a dog I knew absolutely nothing and they answered all of my questions and help me with absolutely everything I needed to know. Now my little bundle of joy is turning 1 year and I couldn’t of been happier!I’m so happy I bought a dog from this kennel, I couldn’t ask for a better, well behaved dog.If you are planning on adopting a fur baby please consider this kennel!I know I will be getting Gus a playmate soon♥️

I bought my dog Buddy From Karah kennels. Every time I contacted her with any questions or concerns she was always quick to respond and gave me amazing advice. I didn’t really know how to take care of a dog on my own as it was my first dog put she taught me everything I needed to know! My Buddy is a gorgeous dog and very loving! Her facility is very clean and you can tell that everyone of her dogs are well socialized, taken care of, and definitely loved. If I were to buy another dog it would definitely be from her I definitely recommend her if you are looking to purchase!
