BC SPCA Victoria

The SPCA in Victoria has a really amazing program which supports low income families / folks to have 1 animal spayed or neutered with their voucher program. It was a simple process and took away a great amount of stress for us during a difficult time. A very worthy society to donate to if you have the means

Very appreciative of a voucher to spay my pup. Response to my request for the appointment, once they had informed me that I had qualified, in order to obtain the voucher was questionable.

This is the most amazing loving caring place full of rejected animals, giving them opportunities for new lives. I'm especially in love with 3 bunnies who are waiting for their forever home for many months now. They are so adorable. Each animal is so very worthy of their best home.

This is a truly inspirational place. The staff is amazing and I don’t just mean the ones at the front who meet and greet people but all the others as well. The people running the day camps for children, the people caring for the animals and showing potential pet owners. These people are so caring, informed and respectful. As I have stated in my other reviews , I also judge businesses by how they treat my children. These people have made quite the impression on my children. Two thumbs up.

BC SPCA banned Lauren Combs and Austin Manson Forget from adopting pets as they adopted a pet from them, took it home, shot it in the head, ate it and bragged about it online. Unfortunately a despicable woman named Darla Bondy is adopting pets on their behalf and giving the doomed pets to Lauren and Austin.

I think the concept of this organization is certainly good - however their clear failures and bureaucracy having gotten to the size they have is very evident. Your time and money would be better spent donating to more grassroots organizations like the Victoria Cat Rescue Corps Society, as they have a smaller organization and won't transfer cats that you have put in to adopt to a branch on the other side of the island without providing any updates on your adoption process for two weeks.Edit: after being replied to I attempted to get in contact with them again only to find that after 20 minutes of trying starting at 4pm when I'd gotten home they had disabled their phone system and in order to get a hold of any human being I had to go to a different branch, and while they were helpful and sympathetic they could not get in contact either. So I will be changing my review to one star.Edit 2: Spoke to the manager, she was not aware that not all applicants had been reviewed before she was informed there were no fits locally and apologized for the situation. I'll bump the review back up to 2 stars but don't think I'll be adopting from them in future.

Wish I could take home all these beautiful babies! Come volunteer with me! It's the next best thing. Show these abandoned Angels that they're loved and a new home is just around the corner.
