I had some relatives from out of town visiting and after reading about the gluten free options here we decided to give it a try as one of my group is a celiac and is incredibly sensitive to gluten in food. We decided to stop in for lunch. The menu had many items available in gluten free ranging from calamari to sushi rolls, to soup. My group started with the assorted tempura, and calamari. Both dishes came out quite quickly and were really good for being gluten free, I really couldn't tell the difference between the regular calamari and non gluten free calamari, both were equally good. As for our mains I ordered the chicken noodle soup, my group ordered a bc roll and dynamite roll (gluten free) and one bento box. All in all considering the majority of the options we had ordered were gluten free I must say it was a pleasant experience. If your looking for gluten free sushi and Japanese cuisine definitely give globe in Kensington a try

My boyfriend and I came to Globefish Kensington for the first time and we both had such an amazing time. Our server was so kind and kept taking care of us (I should have asked for her name!). The food was delicious, it came out quickly and we got free miso soups. And it was cheap considering how much food we got! The atmosphere was nice and we will definitely come again! A very chill atmosphere, with pops of bright colour from lighting around. Loads of seating set up to be intimate and separate better for small groups. Variety of non Alcoholic drinks and very fresh sushi. The avocado was soft and fresh, and the tempura was cooked perfectly. The sashimi was cut beautifully and was the perfect temperature. They offer loads of gluten free options and items can be altered to be gluten free. The tempura we order was gluten free and tasted nearly identical to the original excluding the appearance and softer texture on the inside.

This place is awesome. My wife is celiac and upon arrival and looking at the menu, 85% of the items are or can made gluten free. The staff is also knowledgeable on how to prepared gf food to avoid cross contamination. That alone is worth the admission.Food was delicious, the service was superb. Really happy to have tried this place and will definitely come back again.

I remember my first time tried Globefish about 10 years ago in this location. It used to be really good and their special rolls were something. I’v been to Macleod location by Chinook mall and it was pretty good as well. Today, we were craving sushi on our way back home so decide to stop by for pick up order. We ordered spicy salmon roll, crazy buster, ghost buster, triple threat rolls, salmon, chopped scallop and amaebi sushi.It was disappointing. Rice was so thick, it taste like tnt sushi. Thick and overcooked, but less vinegary than tnt but still it was bad. Both sushi and roll rice was so thick and bad. Crazy buster used to be my fav but not anymore. First time trying ghost buster and triple thread, again that thick over cooked sticky and mushy rice was over taking the flavour. Crazy buster’s tempura was mushy so i couldn't feel the crispness texture. Lost it’s touch or one time thing? I dont know.. employee was nice and polite when we were there and they welcomed us and showed willing to help with nice smile but when I pay for food at the restaurant, flavour or quality of food is the first thing and service and atmosphere comes next. So I won’t be going back to this location anymore.

Glue your socks on cause this place will blow your socks off!Amazing Sushi, fresh and great cuts of meat! I was very happy to find this place. Great value with high quality sushi and fish.The service was very good and was very attentive. Great suggestions and helped me get exactly what I wanted.I order 2 assorted sashimi Platters, and 2 specialty rolls, (crazy buster & triple threat).The assorted sashimi was to die for. 1 wasn't enough I had to order it again. The tuna was perfect and delicious.The rolls were great but my favorite was the crazy buster! Big Fresh cut of tuna and good salmon!The decor and seating is very nice, hip, and has a great atmosphere! I will be back and highly recommend!

Not recommended! The worst Japanese food I've ever eaten in my life, the yam and edamame were undercooked, the sushi was loose, and the presentation was extremely ugly. And the ramen turned out to be without soup.

My friends and I decided to come here after our final exams and we had the best experience. The service is absolutely incredible and the price is very reasonable for students.The menu is versatille, with great vegan options. My Japanese friend said she highly recommended the Roll Combo to anyone who wanted to try various tastes.

Absolutely delicious food and extremely fast and friendly service. We got all 4 of our dishes in less than 10 minutes after placing our order. Even got complementary miso soup since we went on a weekday! It's extremely affordable (less than $10 for most dishes) and easy to share. The servers are very friendly and fast, and check up on you often.The food is *incredible* here, I highly highly recommend the Beef Tataki, Prawn Tempura, and the Crispy Shrimp Dumplings. The Beef Tataki was quite literally the best thing we've ever tasted - perfect seared beef strips and the special sauce is to die for!They have their own parking lot and the inside decor is very modern and fancy, with a high-end vibe, and very nice washrooms. Definitely will be coming back soon! :)
