CEFA Early Learning Head Office
I've been employed with CEFA since 2014 and was terminated January 2022 due to choosing not to get vaccinated. Terminated w/o written notice nor compensation 1 month prior to effective date on policy. FYI vaccine policies are TEMPORARY mandate, head office decided to prolong the policy w/o updating terminated staff on their return to employment. No updates given, nothing. I've been calling & figuring out what is going on and if I will be getting my job back. Nobody at head office was able to properly explain the reasoning of the policy and why the policy is in place when everything is open and no vaccination policy is in place anywhere else. Finally I called again few months ago speaking with someone who set up a meeting with me to speak with their CEO. He called me and when I missed the call he left me a senseless text message which read:Hi. I tried calling you back. At this time. we will not be making any changes to our conditions of employment. We will we closely monitor the return to school and the coming months, and will determine if we are comfortable making changes in the new year. Kind reards. Ron Cecillon.I have never seen or heard of any CEO speaking in a manner of such carelessness towards an employee. That's a message that you send a potential candidate who is wondering if you are hiring, not a message you send to AN EMPLOYEE who's asking about the status of her job. He kept telling me on the phone that he does not need to discuss anything with me nor explain anything which I think is hilarious because I have the right to my answers as a terminated staff due to a policy that was created. If you can make a policy then explain it. Simple as that. I can't believe I dedicated years to CEFA just to have a senseless text message like that from the CEO regarding my position at work. There was no explanation, no proper update, nothing. Just someone who is sitting at head office making policies that the world is not abiding by anymore. Sounds more like a bunch of pro vaccine people enforcing policies for their own interest not for anyone else. If you had the best intentions for children and families then you would do much more than creating policies that are so irrelevant to the time. Instead of creating schedules for parents to buy into how about check up on your staff and employees. We've had many head office visits and I haven't seen anyone from head office walk into a classroom to talk to teachers or children. This is why turnover rates for CEFA teachers are so high because the value is so low. Before creating policies next time, please back them up as I am confused why I am terminated and at home because of a vaccine, yet the school is open for hundreds of parents and families to be in and out without showing proof of vaccine. It would also be nice hearing back when multiple calls are left and emails that cannot be returned. I emailed natacha plus her assistant who I assume both don't check emails as I have sent follow ups also. Anyone looking into working at CEFA should think twice. The fact that SO MANY CHANGES could be made which teachers are wanting cannot happen but the smallest thing turns into a policy is terribly concerning. How about more pay for teachers, incentives and better compensation plans. How about affordability for parents paying fees or free uniforms once they register? How about better food for the children and materials? Forget all that when head office pays more attention to enforcing a covid 19 vaccination. HILARIOUS. Anyone looking to work for CEFA should go where you are valued and respected. I suggest better training for ceos also as Ron does not know how to communicate at all. Next time you pick up the phone talk with some respect. It truly shows how he undermines staff assuming they would take verbal abuse. Who did you think you were talking to? It's quite disappointing knowing he must speak with educators this way assuming they will be timid. Ron, thank you for telling me to proceed in any way that I wish in regards to seeking my compensation which is what I will be doing.
