My Escape needed an appraisal and a safety. I am gifting this car to my grandson. I want this car to be Topnotch when he takes ownership. They did all of this in one day. I was very impressed with their service.

Do not use Penn Automotive! They steal from the vulnerable! Our teenage sons car was stolen from our driveway on October 2nd. He didnt have insurance yet, as it was not ready for the road yet. He had an appointment scheduled for inspection the following day. He was called at 4:42 pm on October 4th by OPP stating that his car had been found in Owen Sound and they told him that it will be towed to Penn Automotive. Our son immediately called us and we told him under no circumstances is it to go to Penn because they have been known to be dishonest business people and gauging inoccent consumers when they are most vulnerable. He tried to call back with these instructions, and to tell them that he has CAA but was unsuccessful. I immediately called OPP myself repeatedly at 4:50-5:00 pm and could not get through. I then called Penn Automotive directly and was very clear in telling them that they are not to pick up his car. My husband also called and told them the same. We had been given 2- other quotes for $150.00+tax up to $200.00. Plus we have CAA. so he would not have had to pay a thing, had they called the closest tow company in Owen Sound instead of calling one that was 45 km return trip. I called Penn Automotive at 8:am the following morning and asked for my sons invoice to be emailed to me so I could pay it. I knew that we had to get the car out of there as soon as possible before they tacked on more daily impound fees. That is why their yard is so full of cars! The bills are so high, that some people just simply walk away and leave their cars. Their bills are worth more than their cars are. They never sent me the invoice I asked for. I emailed twice, called twice. I then contacted my son at work and he went there directly to pay this bill so they would release his car to be towed back home by another company.The bill was 1070.00. They reduced it because they are such great business people! You are stealing from innocent vulnerable people!

Absolutely hands down best automotive service in the area! Always there when we need them for any issue with the vehicles... whether it be fixing a flat tire, towing, maintenance or buying a new-to-us car!!

700 meter tow down the road cost me 786 after tax. Car was towed off site by Owen sound towing through CAA (which was perfect call them if needed). Main boss I talked to (didn’t get a name) was extremely predatory towards someone who has never been in a crash before. If I could give this a negative review, I would. Avoid at all costs

Very high priced compared to most. Cost me almost $1300 to get my car out for a 7 day impound ! Ridiculous

A young person borrowed my vehicle and made a mistake. I was not there at the time so I have nothing to say as to why the chain of events that followed took place The vehicle was less than 10 km from my home. In fact the youngster was able to walk home before the vehicle reached their place of business in Hepworth. They did however call back promptly with an aggressive attitude with the total for the tow charge. He explained that it was all legal and above board and approved simply because their rates are clearly posted. Upon arrival I found them completely hidden behind their Covid barrier. Keep in mind that all of this occurred in broad daylight during normal business hours on a beautiful sunny day. If one was to google average acceptable tow truck rates the range is between $125-250 in Ontario and between 2.50-3.50/mile. Now let’s compare what they charge to answer the phone during normal business hours will cost you $350.00 then they have to add on the tow truck to preform the service at $80.00. That’s 430.00 and the vehicle hasn’t even gone anywhere. Now the icing on the cake was them padding the bill by adding extra km to the distance. At a time when people are trying to recover from economic hardships it’s comforting knowing that there are still people out there that could care less about anyone other than themselves and the attitude I encountered of their superiority makes me sick. I have photos of the mileage from their place of business to the pick up location as proof of them padding their bill. I’m sure the pleasure was all theirs as I certainly did not enjoy any part of the situation. It does make me wonder how far this goes Do you think they are giving kick back to the OPP to keep their preferred status? Curious I would have expected a red carpet to roll out of the phone when to them it is perfectly natural to charge $350.00. As far as a discussion regarding the rates up front prior to being towed well I was not afforded that luxury despite the driver passing along my name and phone number to the OPP at the time of the incident. If this were to happen in Toronto they have laws in place to protect people like me from people like them so what would have cost $300.00 at the most in our capital cost just a shave under $600.00 coming in at $592.00

Penn Automotive have never disappointed me when I've needed car work done on my car. I continue to recommend them to people when they ask me for a place to have their car fixed.

The folks at Penn have always done a fantastic job for me. This last time I dropped off my vehicle expecting a 400-500 bill. Called me the next day all done and an extra headlight replaced for only 150. That kind of service I can trust .
