Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel

We stayed here knowing we'd be doing some walking so the location wasn't a huge deal to us. If you're not super mobile, I'd suggest a hotel closer to the wharf. It's really just a 10 min. walk to the waterfront if you're going straight there. Ruby's next door is a great place for breakfast and prices are reasonable. The rooms are on the smaller side (NYC size) but they are well appointed and freshly updated. I'd easily stay here again. Even better, the service can't be beat! Everyone was just so nice!

Stayed the night last weekend with a friend as I was visiting from Calgary and wanted a night out in Victoria. This Best Western was the 2nd cheapest option in downtown and has some good reviews so we booked the 3 bed suite.The check in process was a breeze and valet parking is always appreciated. The main elevator is rather slow and small and staff did not mention there was a much better one to the left.Our room was nice and had tons of space. The separate room in a 3 bed suite is always appreciated and makes it feel of true luxury. Unfortunately, our suite had a view of the building next door. It would have been nice if this hotel had put their suites on the other side of the building. The room did have A/C but only a window unit in the main living area. This makes for a rather warm awakening in the bedroom.Come morning, we found that our shower didn't get any hotter than lukewarm. Lukewarm showers are rather disappointing after a night out. We also found the complimentary Keurig in our room didn't get hot either but we ended up downstairs for breakfast anyways and had coffee there.Upon checkout, we did have to wait 15 min for our car to be brought back from valet. I had tried to call from our room to request the car but nobody at the front desk answered the phone.

A gem of a hotel if you can manage a little bit of noise. My husband was working out of town in Victoria so my son and I decided to tag along and get a vacation out of it at the same time. The hotel location is amazing. It is walking distance to basically everything. It is located on a busier street so you can hear the road noise in your room. The hotel is aware of this and kindly provides earplugs for those this may affect. My son is 7 months old and the noise did not disrupt his sleep or routine. I personally did not find the noise too bad.The staff at this hotel was incredible. They were all beyond kind. The parking arrangement is valet only and they always had my husbands truck ready to go for him every morning. Super quick and efficient if we hadn’t previously scheduled it…however with everything in walking distance we didn’t find we used it in the evening.The room was clean and had everything provided. House cleaning is based on request instead of everyday…which worked well for our situation.

I recommend staying here if you want to receive excellent customer service! We hadn't been to beautiful Victoria since before the pandemic. We decided to take the Clipper with hope that we could truly enjoy the experience of not having to drive and be centrally nearby points of interest. This Hotel offered that to us. The room, our view, and the staff were also great! The staff was very gracious about storing our luggage while we had a short wait for our room to be ready. We had arrived before noon. They texted us to let us know when the room was ready. They also extended check out for us, and stored our luggage again while we had a late breakfast in the restaurant that is attached to the Hotel. The staff even called a taxi for us to take back to the Clipper ferry. We were treated very well. We are looking forward to our next trip back!

Wonderful experience overall! Great central location, recently renovated, very comfortable and most of all friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond. Someone in my group was celebrating a birthday and received a free upgrade and gifts + card from the hotel. Definitely recommended! The staff were the highlight of a lovely stay.

Great customer service, stellar location (amazing walkability), great rooms, comfy beds, attentive and kind staff and I saw the cleaning staff cleaning the rooms on our floor... NEXT. LEVEL.! These women were scrubbing the walls, pulled all the furniture out and were cleaning behind everything! I am a germ freak and these woman were doing amazing work! They left us treats for our anniversary and let us check in early. To the manager of this location, the staff on duty June 29th and 30th all deserve praise! We'll stay again thanks to them!

A great spot to stay for enjoying Victoria!! The rooms are nice, comfy beds, everything is clean, the lobby looks really nice and newly renovated, and I love the coffee/hot cocoa machine they have by the lobby!!They do have valet parking but there is also the Johnson street parkade nearby that has decent rates as well so it’s not a pain finding a spot to park for the night.The staff was also super nice and helpful. :)

Have stayed here several times over the years. Standard Rooms are clean with reasonable amenities (coffee machine, fridge) there are suites as well with kitchenette. Front desk and staff are really pleasant. Parking is available by valet.

We chose this hotel for our Victoria anniversary celebration and were thrilled with the wonderful warm staff , the professional , friendly service , the upgraded suite and complimentary wine , and the excellent food at the restaurant. We loved the fact that we were such a short walk to the Royal theatre and also to the beautiful waterfront , it was a pleasure to walk the scenic route each morning and evening. The valet service is a nice touch , it was convenient and prompt . Thank you to the incredible front desk and the restaurant staff , they were an absolute delight ☀️

Located perfectly 10 min walk from harbour, in the downtown, Stuff, service is absolutely Awesome!! A Specially thanks to manager Nadine- excellent people skills !!! Front desk guys- Brenton, Jessica, Steve.. and more.. excellent messaging system, we had agreement on free parking- but otherwise parking is expensive!! Hotel super clean and comfortable!! Definitely will stay againThanks
