Oceanview Skate Park

Best thing about this spot is the ocean view. On a nice day it's great to take a blanket and let the kids do their thing. The structures themselves are metal which is an interesting change from the usual concrete . Pretty sparse though. Nevertheless, 5 starts because I love all skate parks.

Needs to be re-did and built better

in an area that is developing as fast as eastern passage, the conditions of this skatepark are horrific and honestly embarrassing .as you can see from the photos, most of the obstacles have been removed by either thieves or by the city itself. the only remaining obstacles are the ramps and a couple of home-made things . as well, the surface of the ground is asphalt, and it has degraded a ton over the past few years. this park is essentially un-usable due to this. a skater will need to push very hard in order to maintain their speed against the rough ground, but every ramp is made of this weird slippery plastic material that is the textural opposite to the asphalt. you're pretty much flying at these things to keep your speed but then trying to control yourself on this plastic surface is ... pretty much just a dangerous combination. this park needs to be completely re-done in my view.the view is obviously nice, but the wind that blows off the harbour infiltrates the park and can make the conditions impossible . even a couple of trees would have helped mitigate this.I would give one additional star for having the only good public 'mini ramp' out of all of HRM skateparks. this feature alone is worth skating on a nice calm day.

Had some nice structures but also needs some repairs.
