Terrible Customer Service! I went to get some Euros (at an already inflated price) and was then told that my Debit Card was not from a Bank that their 'book keeper' recognized. It is a National Bank Card BTW - My options were to use another card or take out cash (with a high fee I am certain).Sorry that you and the book keeper are ignorant of all banks in Canada - but if the PIN works and the transaction complete - I do not see a clearly articulable concern?

I went in on Saturday Jan 7 2023 to buy a 10 oz silver bar,. It was posted for one price on their website that updated every min. The Girl behind the counter tried to upcharge me an extra 10 dollars for weekend" prices. WTH??? Weekend prices?? What kind of business is this?"

I no longer do business with Albern, despite the convenience of location. The 'single' star of this review is for a friendly staff member (no longer with Albern); otherwise, it would be 0/5.The older white guys (owners?) are disrespectful and miserable lol. Throughout the late 2000s and 2010s, I bought and sold countless 1 troy oz. fine Au / Ag Maple Leafs (singles & tubes), Philharmonics, sealed Pamp & Valcambi Suisse bullion products. The simplest of transactions.After my last visit (~2018), I decided it would be the last. I can no longer fathom parting money with a business that behaves as though they are doing me a favour (lol - it's like an SNL parody).Now, I exclusively deal with a well-known refinery in Markham, ON through my consignment accounts. Superior customer service, spreads, shipping / insurance fees, etc.Albern has the Calgary market cornered (on the surface); with a bit of research, I promise you will find better alternatives - locally, or further East. If I ever look as miserable as the old guys who run this shop, please push me off a cliff.

This place is awesome. The staff can be a little short with you at first, I think its because the silver gold buisness can be frustrating with customers wanting refinds, trying to haggle, and getting upset and when spot prices jumps the day after they sold their metal, or goes down after they bought.I have kept coming and built a repore with the salemen, they are very friendly, answer questions, recommmend different items, and they are good to returning customers. They are also cheaper then buying online, and theres always new things coming in. I have gotten Universal movie rounds, combibars, Presidental coins, brand new Britiannia, a libertad, Philharmonic, all for great prices.I would recommend anyone who want to get into stacking start here. Just give the guys some time to warm up, they may not be all buddy buddy the first time you come in, but thats because to them you may be the person who rushes in the next day demanding an exta $100 or refund because spot proces changed rapidly...I have a very pleasurable experience shopping at Albern Coins and im always happier leaving then I was when i walked in.

I went in to buy a tube of 25, 1 ounce silver maple leafs on Saturday morning. I payed in US funds. The price was actually about $10 cheaper than the Friday before. The girl wasn't overly friendly but she was fast and efficient, and in the end that's all you really want anyway. She may have been having a bad day, we all do sometimes. Pleased with my purchase, and would deal there again. Already referred two of my friends to these guys. Prices are fair.

Terrible Customer Service! Overall, I rank negtive to this store. Arrogant, rude and discriminatory. This is the worst impression this store gave me.Not only bad attitude but very rude. The store closes at 5 pm, I entered the store at 4:50 pm, a male clerk was very upset and asked me to come earlier in the future. I said I cannot as I am off work @4:30pm. I'm not late, you should provide service. He remembered me from then on. When he went to trade for the second time, he refused to provide me with a private room, saying that the room was only for taking traffic, what a big lier!During the third transactions, this same male clerk did not explain my question, but told me that I must fill out a form to claim my cash amount in the future, even though my cash is far below the limit that needs to be reported. I am not allowed to enter the store for transactions, only wire transactions. The male clerk said I triggered complince alert, my cash amount is lower the limit of report and I can provide bank statemenet to prove my money is from my saving. He didn't explain why at all, and used high-sounding reasons to vent his personal anger as I refused come to the store earlier and argued for using the private room. He is very unprofessional. Very bad experience at this store.All customers are advised not to trade with them. Because I was treated like a criminal, although my source of funds was clean and reasonable, their service was extremely poor, no kind service and explanation, very aggressive and bullying customers.Don't believe the hypocritical replies from the so-called manager, because they have seen so many bad reviews, and the quality of service has not improved at all, you know they are doing it knowingly. There are many good places in Calgary to buy and sell gold and silver, but don't trade with them because you won't be respected and will be treated very badly. Just thinking about the lack of patience and respect on their poker faces makes me sick. Won't buy or sell gold or silver in this damn store again.

The absolute worst place I've ever walked into. I regret giving a one star. As a new customer, I guess I must have asked a stupid question. Two of the tellers were mocking me and laughing at me in my face. I was so angry but then I thought it was funny as I wondered if they realized that I could everything they were saying about me through that little speaker. Why do businesse at a place like this?

Do not bring numismatic coins here. Whoever their appraiser is they have no clue. I was offered $50 for an 1887 Carson City Morgan Silver Dollar!! Calgary Coin Gallery offered me a fair $250.

My first time there and selling items here. service was fast and friendly.Reading past reviews stating their prices are unfair, I was a little bit nervous bringing my items in. I was pleasantly surprised when my quote was a very fair market price for my items. Thank you for your professionalism and service.
