Better Meals

Pretty good food. I started getting them during post-hospital recovery last year. I don't like all of the entrees but have some favourites, especially the breakfasts. You can order meals that come with a dessert and soup (you choose) or you can order a la carte items. I often do the latter, and these include fresh sandwiches, entrees, desserts and more. I appreciate this service for days when I don't have the energy to cook but want to eat some decent food.

For the most part the meals are quite good and delivery is good. I only gave them three stars as we are finding the consistency of the meals from order to order cannot be counted on for our last 2 orders. Turkey dinner used to be very good , now turkey is stringy, stuffing is mush, perogies were good but now filling is grainy and no matter how you reheat them the exterior is gummy and last but not least the cabbage rolls on the last order the filling was completely different than it usually is and was very dry on the inside. These were favourites of ours but now we can't order them. Hopefully this won't continue with other dinners or we will run out of things to order, perhaps they changed their chef?

We tried Better Meals for my parents (both 91yr old) and were very impressed. Ordering online was easy and they called to confirm. The delivery gal was super lovely and the first order came with a handy reheat instruction sheet, more menu options, and an interesting newsletter that my mom loved. The portions ('feature meals') are fine for the elderly and we especially love the low sodium options. Soups and desserts included were good too. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is the potatoes are as runny as the soups so I just make my own for them. We will definitely keep using Better Meals.

My case manager referred me here. I really quite enjoy their meals overall, definitely have some favorites and breakfast is good too. Some meals are something left to be desired. More variety instead of mashed potatoes would be nice. Portions on some meals are lacking. Service is reliable and friendly. It helps me to control my portions, diabetes, and just to eat healthier. I would recommend to my friends and family but would warn against some meals that are just plain poor quality and taste. Thank you.

Can't say I would order again. Our experience wasn't that great. It's a decent price though. Food was so so.Thought we'd try it out anyways. Food instuctions were iffy. We had to cook it way longer than instructed to as food was still frozen when done.

My husband just got off the phone with the manager of Better Meals. We order food for his mom, 94 years old, with mobility issues. The first time we ordered, my husband asked that they deliver it into her home as she is unable to bend down and retrieve it. They said they would. They did not. He phoned to complain and tried a second order with clear instructions to call her first and then deliver it into her house. They said they would. No call and again delivered it onto her doorstep. My mother in law always answers her phone. My husband challenged that they even called. The manager refused to provide proof that there was a call. We will NEVER order from this company again. Thanks for nothing Sam!

Better Meals have come to me when I had knee and hip replacements. I still order that I am in my 90s. Good portion of meat always, balanced with potatoes and vegetables. Friendly and efficient people.

We live in New York and my mom in Vancouver. She is 92 and has just moved into an Independent Living complex. What a weight off my mind (and shoulders) to know that she is eating healthy, balanced meals that are delivered to her door. She loves the food and the variety. She prefers the food warmed in the oven rather than in the microwave but that's her personal preference. Better Meals you are doing a fantastic job.

I love these meals! I work too much and don't like to cook, so these are life savers. I also have a sensitive tummy and the fact that there isn't an abundance of spices works for me! I only wish I knew about them sooner. Thanks Better Meals!
