Burnaby Public Library, McGill Branch

Beautiful Library and location. Unfortunately the rude, (and honestly god awful staff and other patrons) ruin the entire experience. If you are there to study in a quiet environment. You WON'T find it. You will find that the staff and other library patrons actively discourage certain people from being there and studying by talking loudly around them. Making all sorts of noise around the person including but not limited to banging hard cover books against metal book shelves while working" and putting away books. (If you move to a new location they all of a sudden will bring their cart full of hard cover books closer to you and start banging away again.) Spying on your computer and monitoring what you are doing is also common practice."

I just got my library card and the process was very smooth. Even checking out the books I chose took me less than a minute. Not to mention the interior: floor to ceiling windows, sofas & lamps… were quite nice and cozy! Love it here!

The view of this library is excellent. The book and media storage are also good.However, it is desirable by adding some up-today facility such as 3D printer at there. You know it is common facility in either Richmond or Coquitlam's libraries now.

The view was a billion bucks. Facility phenomenal. Great desk options and lounge chairs. Nice staff.

Staff are knowledgeable, and books are very organized. Love how we can find books online and put them on hold. Wish they had more copies of books in demand.

Lovely atmosphere and great people! The staff have always gone out of their to help me. Great landscaping and beautiful view of the mountains— what more could you want in a library :)

Absolutely love this library. Staff are so helpful and kind. Building is inviting and relaxing. My daughter wanted a new title that they didn’t have and they ordered it for her and contacted us when it was in. She was so thrilled to get it!!! Thank you McGill!!
