First time ever having 1 on 1 coaching and in class driver instruction. After many years of driving and doing various lapping days I thought I knew a fair bit. I was familiar with the ddt track but having Andy as my instructor in car helped me really push past what I thought my limits were and what the car was capable of. The first session was exilerating but utterly exhausting. Just a lot to take in. As the day progressed I could feel I wasn’t having to use the wheel quite as much and my driving line was getting smoother. (It’s such a great feeling when you link apexes together and can carry so much speed out of the corner.) This enabled me to brake much harder and really explore the capabilities of the car and myself. The constant in car instruction with braking signals and tips from Andy really helped me to get out of my comfort zone and work on being consistent and faster. I listened to him and tried to implement everything I heard. When things didn’t go as planned I was able to learn from my mistakes and readjust next lap. Such a safe area to explore the limits of traction.After some reflection on the day my only regret was not having proper instruction like this before my previous lapping /track day experiences in life. Looking forward to returning for another session to further build on these foundation skills.

My husband gave me the gift of a day at the track for my birthday. I had the most exciting time in recent memory! My instructor, Ron Williams, was calm, fun and encouraging. I’ve been driving for 50 years and I still learned a lot. I would go again in a heartbeat!

I've been to the Hanson International Advanced Driving School (Hanson School) 4 times and it's always been exciting and fun, and I've learned so much every time. The school is perfect for anyone who wants to learn and improve their car handling or track driving in a safe and friendly environment. The school is also friendly to drivers of any skill levels, as students are placed into 3 groups based on their experience, so each group has a relatively similar pace on the track.Each school lasts for a day from 8am to 5pm. There are five 20-minute on-track sessions, where an instructor will sit on the passenger seat with you to provide real time feedback and guidances, as well as more comprehensive discussions after each session. The instructors are very experienced and many have been professional racers. They are a great resource not only for how to drive on a track, but also how to setup the car properly. Between the on track sessions, there are skidpad practices scheduled for each group which is great for improving car handling. It's a great place to learn the limits of your car without any risk of running off track. There are also classroom sessions where an instructor will teach the students about theories related to track driving (e.g. the racing line, vision, weight transfer, etc.).One particular reason that I like about this school is their focus on safety. The track is marshalled by highly experienced marshals, and passing rules and indications are strictly enforced. We are also required to wear helmets on the track (loaner helmets are provided by the school). This creates a very safe environment for every driver, and we can focus on driving and improving without worrying about other drivers.If you are new to track driving and is interested in exploring it, I would highly recommend the Hanson School. You don't need to have a fancy car to enjoy driving on a track or learn about car handling, and it's very beneficial to get comfortable driving in a controlled environment before going out to open lapping events.Just one note - the school is hosted at Mosport DDT, which is at 3155-3233 10th Concession Rd
