Their food is always great, when dining in. Their delivery and phone service, however, can use some work. Multiple occasions I have waited almost two hours for my food. Each time I called to see what was going on, they assured me that it was “on the way, they just left.” Upon the arrival after a very long wait, my food would be very cold. Safe to say, this is the last time I will be ordering from Westend, I tried plenty times to give them the benefit of the doubt. This restaurant should be Dine-in only, in my own opinion from personal experience!

I was served cold, reheated food. They accidentally gave me a double portion of BBQ Pork and the waitress was showing the kitchen very loudly what one portion was, which was frozen in a sandwich bag. The vegetables in the Cantonese chowmein were so soft they were mushy, either also frozen or so overcooked it should be a crime. The sweet and sour pork… it was honestly just all really really gross. It was $72 for dinner for 2 and it was the worst Chinese I have ever had in my life, and on top of that I have a very bad stomach ache from the food.

It’s really nice to come to a strange town and receive top notch service and good food in a comforting and relaxed environment with a great atmosphere, Great West provided all of this within moments of me sitting down.I always approach new restaurants with a bit of trepidation as you never really know what to expect, this place looked like it predominantly catered to western tastes which it does but I was delighted to find traditional dishes and tofu on the menu my favourite hot pot “8 jewels hot pot” was called “special tofu hot pot” but was still the delightful mix of tofu, vegetables, seafood and pork, absolutely delicious and for kicks I tried the almond chicken which was superb, they also have Mapo Tofu and a host of other dishes. The place was busy with family after family of people packing the place, the servers were excellent fast polite and very kind, and it was wild to watch them hustle and yet be so efficient, great service! The owner was also very nice and has a great sense of humour, the place was very clean and bright so it was very comfortable to enjoy a meal here and I can truly understand why it’s so popular!

I really love the aesthetics of the restaurant, It gives me the American burger place and the Chinese vibe. I got the brown sugar bubble tea and I’m addicted.

We arrived at 5:30 and there was only one empty table. It took an hour to get out meals. However the wait staff were very nice and my kids loved the bubble tea selections. The beef noodle soup my son ordered was the hit of the night; so delicious! My honey garlic spare ribs were very good. My daughter ordered the almond chicken and it was okay, but not as good as the other items. I would recommend coming here either before or after the evening rush.

We grew up going to eat here with our parents, food was always great. Now it's not the same experience as when we were kids. The one great thing about this place is that they'll let you substitute on the chinese menu.

I always order the deep fried chicken wings with fries and gravy and it has always been great quality. We ordered the spring rolls and a wonton soup to share between 3 and it was a nice appetizer size. Portion size is good for the price and food flavorful. They have chilly sauce which has a nice spice with a sweet garlic flavor, for the chicken wings - it's pretty spicy so I suggest trying a small amount first. Tables are very comfortable and customer service is very friendly and attentive.

Thought I'd try west end while in Rupert for the day. I ordered some chowmein with beansprouts and was happy my order was correct upon receiving it (they even wrote it on the lid). For the price the food was great. Cost me just over $10 for some chowmein and I got plenty to enjoy. While I wish the chowmein had some more flavor it was fine how it was and I ate it all.I do wish they had a vegetable spring roll option as theirs had pork in it. But that is my only complaint.Overall was a nice meal for a night in Rupert.
