Gusto 501 | Home | Gusto (pronounced Goo-sto) means tasty in Italian. Located in Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood, Gusto 501 brings together the innovation of sister restaurant Gusto 101 and the soulful hospitality of Janet Zuccarini’s first restaurant Trattoria Nervosa. Since opening our doors in 2020, Gusto 501 has been serving fresh take on contemporary Italian fare in Toronto’s east end. Designed by award-winning architecture firm PARTISANS, Gusto 501’s space is punctuated by glowing terracotta walls and an oversized “garage door” façade that opens up to reveal a multi-level dining theatre. Every level of Gusto 501 unfolds into a unique experience. Come in for your morning espresso and cornetti in our caffè or enjoy the dishes cooked fresh on our wood-fired grill and pizza oven in our Trattoria. In the evening your way up to Attico - our nod to the Italian spuntini bar - for elevated cocktails and small sharing plates. Overall great experience! I recommend making a reservation as it's a busy spot. We absolutely loved our server - he was so funny and kind, attentive, and was super quick. We had a lot of staff come by to check on us which was nice. We ordered two pizzas (Margherita and carbonara) and 2 pasta dishes (lasagna and the mafalde ai funghi), the bread for starters, drinks, and for desert cannoli & the tiramisu. I saw someone nearby order the burger and for sure that's what I'll have next time. I enjoyed the lasagna and added a little bit of chilli oil and chili flakes to it. I didn't get to taste the other dishes my friends ordered but we had no complaints! The tiramisu is large enough to share amongst four people. The atmosphere of the restaurant really adds to the experience. I'm also excited that there is going to be a menu change in a few weeks! Excited to see what the changes are going to be.

Reservation is also hard to get for this restaurant and I finally found out why until I tried it out today.We arrived half an hour before our reservation during the weekday. Hightop unfortunately was the only option. Wish we could have been offered different seating options so we could check out the roof top as well. Got the Capriccio, octopus and mussels for appetizers. The presentation of them was phenomenonal. Great portion of food to start. The beef steak was cooked so well in medium rare. Little fatty and very tender. But it could have been better if it is a bit less salty. I really like the scallop. Incredible flavor of corn base of sauce, which balance of the fishy taste of scallops. Absolutely highlight of the entire meal! Got the mafalde ai funghi pasta with truffle cream and really enjoyed it. Very creamy and it is definitely all vegetarians'top choice. Orata, pan fried sea bream is also quite unique and it is not a main course you could find any Italian restaurant. Juicy fish meat wrapped with crispy skin tastes so great with lime spice sauce. Overall experience was wonderful with attentive service by Rachel. Will definitely come back!

This palce will do just fine for nice dinner with your partner or even a group of friends. The design is nice, and lighting is interesting but don't expect to be awed by anything. Everything will meet the standards. The pizza was good, but the was a must try. The drinks were average, and so was the tiramisu. There was too much noise for the experience to be peaceful. Only one waiter waited all the tables, at least on the first floor, which made the service somewhat delayed. The tables are a bit too small and they're very close to each other which made it weird to have the waiter almost touch your arm while they were trying to put food on the table next to mine. Not sure what training the staff go through but I'm pretty sure you don't want to he called a neat freak" by a waiter who has seen you for an hour! Especially when they make the comment and simply leave!"

Really cool restaurent. The food is so delicious. Even the salads are fresh and taste like heaven. Make sure to go there on an empty stomach because the food is so yummy! Even the bread is delicious. I would suggest to call and book a table in advance. I personally like the upper floors but if you sit in the ground floor you get to see the food getting prepared and the pizzas getting out of the oven in front of you. The waiters and waitresses are so nice and helpful.

Went here for our anniversary, service was good. Our server was attentive yet not overly attentive. Food came out and was delicious, highly recommend the mussels over the octopus, but both dishes were quite delicious.Only flaw is we ordered tea with our dessert and way after we ate our dessert the tea came out. The restaurant did make it right at the end of the day which we very much appreciate and will most likely be coming back.

We loved everything about this place. The food, the atmosphere and the service were on point. We went there for brunch and ordered from that menu. Everything was delicious and their roasted potatoes are incredibly good. The star of the show was the ricotta pancakes, a 100/10. The service was great, very helpful and friendly. We are definitely coming back to try out different items they have.

Awesome hidden spot in Toronto for a rooftop bar with brilliant cocktails and pizza.Our server was very kind and gave great suggestions to all of us.Fantastic work, team Gusto 501. We will be back for more.

The food tasted great, but it was served very cold, we were a group of 16 people and all of us who ordered steak, got it cold.Service was good, but I’d expect servers come and ask for the next round of drinks more often, they started getting drink orders very late and didn’t ask about second or third round until we asked for it while they were around.And the restaurant got very very hot in the middle of our meal, and some people had to even leave early because they felt too hot.

My family treated me for my birthday dinner here at Gusto501. Great looking restaurant, food is flavourful. Our server was attentive and was able to confidently recommend menu items, which was on target. Will definitely be a place to return to.
