Hickey's Greenhouses

What a beautiful variety of annuals and perennials. The annuals are buy 1and get 1 today when I was there. They have a wonderful variety of fruit trees, maple and blue spruce. I could have spent the whole day there just admiring the beautiful flowers and trees.

This is by far the best place to buy plants and shrubs for your garden. The staff are quite knowledgeable about both the plants and fertilizers they sell. Their plants are very healthy, and maintained while in their care, and hearty enough for the Newfoundland climate. There also happens to be a skilled florist on staff as well as many decorations and furniture that any garden nut would love for a gift. The prices are average for their trees and shrubs, and they cannot be beaten on the price for annuals, vegetables, and perennial flowers. This is always the first place I stop every season.

Nice to have a local greenhouse but the selection of flowers and veggie starter plants is very limited. The prices are really high as well, compared to other years (please don't blame covid; it's getting old. I've heard they ship in their plants...which is weird...I like to shop locally but not at Hickeys if other nurseries are growing their own plants locally and Hickey's is not.

This was my second trip to this nursery, my first experience was awful and today was even worse. We entered and were ignored by two employees talking at the register. We looked around the store for a specific plants and did not find them. We asked an employee if they had the varieties we requested and were told yes, they were “out back.” She didn’t bother to show us where in their large outside area and when we asked where specifically they told us to ask another employee who was outside who ignored us completely even though we called him by the name she told us. In absolute frustration we left but not before I told the woman on the register that their service was horrible. The only reason I gave one star is because giving none is not an option. Very unhelpful, no acknowledgement of us, I nearly asked if they could see me since I felt invisible. I will not revisit and give them another opportunity to treat me so poorly and I will not recommend them. I am landscaping my huge property and had an estimated budget of nearly 6 grand which I wanted to put back into a local business. Additionally I am involved in a huge development which required landscaping and I will take my business elsewhere. Shame on you, the employees, for being so self absorbed. On a side note, another potential customer left the store shortly before us proclaiming it was her first trip and it would be her last. Whoever owns this business needs to train their employees in customer service or they will no longer have customers.

Very good selection and quality . Very friendly staff! Prices are fair. Btw Thomas Kincaid collectables are fsirly priced. You cannot get these prices online. They are cheaper in the store!

Worst service ever! Nobody around to help and when I finally did find someone they simply pointed and said they were down there.Ridiculous service considering I am paying a good price for their plants. Staff was also very unfriendly and apparently wDid not know the words thank you when I checked out. Will not be shopping there again.

It was such a wonderful experience! We were able to get so much lovely help with starting our very own orchard and the company was fantastic.

Staff are always great .The patio furniture is awesome ..Everyone should have some ..

My daughter had her bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets made here. They were absolutely beautiful. They were made a few days before the wedding for travel out of town. Pat packed them very securely and they lasted for almost 2 weeks after the wedding. Highly recommended.
