Midas

While visiting my little sister, the muffler fell off her car. Yup. Just gave up on her.We were recommended this location after a couple of mechanic shops said they could t help us on short notice. Not Midas. They told us to come in and they would take care of it. Special ordered the part from Victoria and had it installed and ready to drive away in two hours flat. Awesome! Fair rate. Great service. Special nod to Mike who helped us out on the phone and in the shop.

Seems like it depends on who you get and what you're having done. Went in for a routine check and was told there was a serious problem that would cost $2500 but didn't get a quote or anything on paper despite asking a few times. Got a second opinion from another mechanic and they said they don't see the issue, showed me the part in question and explained why it wasn't broken. Too bad -- I like Midas for oil changes, but that whole experience was super sketchy.

I have been a regular customer of this Midas location for several years and they perform the regular service of our vehicles. I have found them to be very professional in dealing with customers and performing service. Appointments are easy to make and they are carried out promptly. The feedback that you receive after receiving service is second to none, with a complete analysis and explanation of what was done (including pictures).I have no hesitation to recommend the Brentwood Bay Midas facility for any service requirements.

3 days before Christmas . . . the battery in my Titan is sounding dodgey - not the usual enthusiasm turning over the starter since we got the Arctic Outflow thing recently. I didn't want to risk a full blown problem during the holiday break so asked if they could fit me in somehow. The shop was slammed with work and probably shorthanded.Mike was most accommodating and offered his best effort which meant I was on the road within an hour the happy owner of a new Interstate battery. My last one was an Interstate and lived 4 months after the 6 yr warranty expired. It may have gone on for more months but it wasn't worth the risk.I have brought both of my vehicles to this Midas for several years and have found there service to be great. Their regular oil change & checkup service keeps me up to date with the condition of my machines. They always solve any problems.They are a good, dependable shop.

I went in with a failed alternator. I was told $600 to fix it and agreed. Next day they call and say it needs a battery as well and that it would be another $500 to put a new battery in. I said $500 is too much for a battery and did it myself at a cost of $200 and 10 minutes of time. Shortly after getting the car back from them I started to experience electrical issues. After looking at the alternator I noticed they didn’t tighten the one bolt that holds it on. Not in time to save me the money on all the other things I checked first. My father had similar experiences there. Don’t take your car there, they are not honest people and don’t do a good job.

Very well priced. And trust them to do the right work. Great place to do business.

I messaged the shop asking for an estimate on a repair that I wanted to have done on my Toyota. They replied really quickly, and I was able to book service for later in the same day even that morning! All the staff are super professional they did the repair very quickly and very effectively, and I left an extremely happy customer. I can't recommend the shop enough and I will be back with all my vehicles for service now. Thank you!

Charged me over $200 for a winter tire changeover!I have had this done elsewhere and have always been charged much, much less.Service was quick but I will not be going back.
