This place is a steak lover's dream come true. They specialize in top-quality beef, and they serve an amazing Tomahawk - a massive, bone-in ribeye that's as delicious as it is impressive.But let's not stop there - every steak on their menu is cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. They source their beef from local Alberta ranchers.The truffle fries are crispy and flavourful, and the mac and cheese is rich and creamy. They also have an extensive wine list that pairs perfectly with the steaks.But what really sets Modern Steak apart is the atmosphere. The decor is modern and chic, with cozy booths and dim lighting that makes for a perfect date night spot or a fun night out with friends. The service is top-notch too - the staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and and made my dining experience the best it could be.

I really enjoyed my visit to modern, we tried their limited run of dry aged steak which was something unique I hadn't had before. The seafood was fresh and flavourful and the staff really elevated the experience with their attentiveness. I also really enjoyed the effort put into the zero alcohol cocktails. My only criticism is that the decor and ambience just don't match the level of the food and service. For a place called Modern it's giving mid 2000's Big Brother House vibes and I don't know why as the amount of money I spent alone could have afforded a bespoke piece of modern art to replace the 4 canvases that spell meat"I cannot understate how delicious and inspired the food and drinks were though

We really enjoyed our steak dinner tonight which was the Kansas City steak for two. We started off our drinks with some complimentary truffle popcorn. The steak on the hot plate was delicious and the roasted garlic cloves and lemon for the topping on the steak was a nice touch. The asparagus and mushroom risotto were cooked to perfection. The setting was so romantic and quiet. We'll definitely be back soon!

The absolute best restaurant in Calgary for a perfect date night. We were celebrating our anniversary & received the best service by our waiter. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave great recommendations throughout the experience. Steak was delicious. Also the Wednesday date night deal can’t be beat. Tip: Get the Yorkshire pudding as a side, so good. We will definitely be back.

SUCH good food. So so good. The steak was like butter and the sides were creative and flavorful. We ordered the AAA Black Apron Tasting sharing plate(s) and there was more than enough for the two of us, plus some. It would easily feed 4.

Really great waiter who was very friendly and knowledgeable about meat cuts and livestock. The sides provided were good in portion size and plenty of options were available in different flavours and textures. Price ranges were expected for restaurant location and type.

If you are a steak or seafood foodie, Modern Steak Kensington is the perfect choice for you. Chic, yet elegant atmosphere with electric music in the background.Our meal took us on a journey. With recommendations from our waiter, Brad, we started with the truffle oil popcorn on to the main courses of salmon and steak, which both were cooked to perfection. Desserts were Baked Alaska and warm chocolate cake.Reservations highly recommended. This is a meal you will want to take time and savor.Side note: Modern Steak has a wonderful menu for groups larger than 2.

Amazing! Steak was wonderful. Server was very professional. Would definitely recommend to the steak lovers! The oysters were delicious also. Definitely on the expensive side but you can tell the difference between standard restaurant and this place. The desert was great also photo attached even makes fire. The server was running and cared so much very friendly even a couple laughs! Thanks Rachel!

Very much below average for the price, the service was great or I'd rate it lower. There are plenty of better Steakhouses in Calgary. They really missed the mark, worst mashed potatoes I've ever been served in a nice restaurant by far. Tasted like boxed mashed potatoes without any seasoning, and the steaks had zero char. It would be a 1 star review if it wasn't for the service, which was absolutely top notch.

I can't say enough of this restaurant. The food is great! The atmosphere is better. The staff is really what makes it amazing. We were one of the lucky groups to get Ryan as our waiter. With my bad dad joke humor, he was able to continue to make the humor even better and has great customer service, too. It was a night to remember. Thank you, Ryan and Modern Steak Kensington!
