Gleniffer Lake

Great place. Lots of space, camping available or just go for the day.

We took the family out to Gleniffer Lake today. Such a beautiful spot! Great fishing, convenient boat launch, bathrooms, picnic tables, the works! Perfect spot for some fishing, bbq'ing and relaxing!

Gleniffer Lake has many entrances and is absolutely sprawling in size. The water is warm and clear, with lots of room for boats, rafts, dingies, etc.There’s many ways to get to Gleniffer lake, whether at a campsite or from the nearby Carefree Resort, but kilometres of beach allow you to get to the lake quickly and easily from mostly anywhere nearby.The lake’s biggest downfall are the beaches themselves, as they are scattered with driftwood and are mostly comprised of small to medium sized rocks. In terms of a beach, it’s not great.Other than that, what’s not to love? It’s a big lake with clear water and is a must-see summer destination if you live in Red Deer, Calgary or Edmonton. Check it out.

Nice sandy beach with lots of room for the most part. Definitely a great spot for the kids!

Nice quiet lake with clean water. It is a reservoir, so the beaches fluctuate from huge (with lots of hard clay exposed) in the spring, to miniscule in mid - late September.

The Best Swimming Lake in our area

Nice, but pointless if you travel with a dog, as it is not a dog-friendly place.
