Running Room

I went in here not really knowing what I was doing. I’m not a runner, just had a recent foot problem come up so I went to get more supportive shoes. The sales associate was informative with all options and clearly knew what she was talking about, which obviously is helpful so you don’t end up blowing $200.00 on shoes you don’t use. The return policy is reasonable too, which again is helpful if you end up not wearing them because they’re certainly not cheap! I am however very happy with the shoes though, so totally worth it.

I have been wearing the same runners for years, but they are no longer being made, so I purchased a pair of Asics from a running room in Vancouver. After giving them a go, I decided I didn't love them, so on a trip to Calgary, I went into this running room hoping someone could help me find the best shoe for me. I am also training for a race so I was looking to get some solid advice from someone at this store.I went in prepared with both the shoes I ran in for years, and the new Asics I wasn't loving, so the sales associate could see what I was working with. I expected to get some help/a reco on a new shoe. The woman working at the store was not helpful at all. She basically told me to tie my laces differently and said there was nothing wrong with the shoes I had bought. Was not interested in helping me find a pair that I loved. Didn't seem interested in trying to make a sale to me. I would have bought a pair if she took the time to assist me correctly and if she talked to me logically about the shoe designs/benefits for the type of running I do. I will not be going back here again.A place like Forerunners in Vancouver is how these guys should treat their customers. I went into Forerunners with the same two pairs of shoes, the same questions, and received WAY BETTER service. The guy there looked at my feet, looked at the shoes I was used to running in, helped me try on shoes, gave his opinion, was respectful and now I am happy with what I have.

Went there looking for some shoes for training for a half marathon. Ethan helped and I have never experienced such a high level of customer service. Not only was he knowledgeable, he was friendly and funny. This isnt the closest location to my house however I will continue to come back to this store just for Ethan. I cannot recommend this place enough

Went to buy a pair of runners yesterday. I noticed the masks, I asked the two ladies at the register from the door if they were comfortable with me not wearing the mask they said No I need to wear one. I said thank you and drove to the Westhills RR. I bought my runners there, the guy was a great!

UPDATE: the store is still good, still great people and staff, but they don't seem to be having clinics anymore - or they're much reduced. Also no Run Club on Wednesdays and Sundays :( this is a big loss, and they're also open shorter hours. Likely a boon for the staff, and I assume makes sense for other reasons, but is definitely a loss for the running community.I've been to several Running Room stores, the Glenmore Landing is the best in Calgary - access to a wide variety of trails for the clinics, instructors who care and offer useful advice (I've taken several clinics), helpful and dedicated group leaders for the weekly runs, and a fairly large selection of product (there may be a larger RR store in Calgary, I'm not sure. Certainly Edmonton's 109 street store is larger). The staff is helpful and many are runners themselves so can provide first hand info. The prices are decent, some things can be cheaper elsewhere, but I've found many things more expensive elsewhere (eg. My Asics shoes for $10-20 more at other running stores), so it all evens out. For the Glenmore Landing location I know the Wed and Sunday run clubs are large and have lots of people of all ages, skills, speeds, and distances, whereas some of the smaller stores like Westhills have way fewer people. It's worth the drive to Glenmore to run with a wide range of fun people on some great trails.

Went in to look at trail running shoes; one worker was helping another customer so I proceeded to look at the shoes waiting for the worker to finish up with the customer. Another worker came up to me and asked in a disturbed" voice if she can help me. I started asking questions and she didn't have the knowledge about trail running shoes. I wanted running shoes good for both road and trail and proceeded to just recommend that I go with the trail shoes. The way she was talking to me sounded like i was bothering her. I asked to try on a certain pair so she brought it out to me then went back to hanging clothes on the rack. I asked to try on another brand and said "she doesnt THINK she has those in my size". I expected her at least check but didnt. I tried to lighten up the conversation while paying for the shoes by talking about the run club and she was just like "yea ok....here you go!" Pretty much telling me to go. This is the closest running room to me and loved the staff prior to covid

I was in the store today and walked in a woman helped me right away so I took a seat on the first bench to see what size my shoes were. The woman who was helping me went to grab some shoes. The other woman who was helping another customer told me I should move to the other bench because her customer was wearing a mask. I am all for covid precautions but that could have been handled differently and I was going to buy a second pair of shoes but you lost that sale and I probably won't be coming back to this location. If I wasn't in desperate need of new shoes I would have walked out because that woman made me feel like I was nothing. Perhaps this why business is slow.

Thank you for helping me find a great pair of runners! I learnt so much from your knowledgable staff and finally have a pair of shoes that fit great... and properly!!!!!

The Running Room has been at this location serving the community since Glenmore Landing opened. Great place to take a training course or just go for a run around the Glenmore Dam.

Went to look for a pair of shoes and had the pleasure of dealing with Eleanor. Very sweet friendly knowledgable lady. Was very patient with us it’s great to have great customer service thanks Eleanor:)
