It was an unplanned and spontaneous visit to Paolo’s Authentic Filipino Restaurant and I was happy this is the place we ended up going. It was a great experience and the best lunch to celebrate my birthday. All the food we ordered I would rate 10/10, from the rich, deep, and authentic flavours, to the huge serving portions and amazing cust server that day serv. We will definitely be back here as this is the best Filipino owned restaurant I’ve ever been. Thank you, to “Ate” the owner who came out to greet us and even share her cooking techniques, and to the “handsome” server that caters to us that day. To the “team” congratulations for your hard work and love you put into this in delivering the best quality Filipino food that we have found in Calgary.

Paolo's Authentic Filipino Restaurant
My family and I decided to try Paolo’s for the first time on Mother’s Day and were looking forward to it after reading the reviews. We ordered the pinakbet, palabok and chicken inasal.Unfortunately none met our expectations - we had patiently waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for THREE dishes to arrive to our table… just to be more disappointed with the food. The pinakbet was reasonably priced but was on the salty side. The chicken inasal was very dry and seemed like it was cooked a few days ago and reheated. The worse would be the palabok, I had high hopes on this dish as it looked good from other people’s pictures, however this dish felt like it went to salt city and stayed there. The Palabok was also topped with chicharon that tasted odd and stale; so we asked the server what the chicharon was made of and she said it was chicken skin. It definitely tasted like something else (maybe leftover meat from the crispy pata??). The stale taste of the ‘chicharon’ was so overpowering that it was inedible.I am one to uplift good places, we did want to like Paolo’s but sadly this didn’t do it for us. It was disheartening to wait unreasonably that long for food and to see everyone disappointed by the execution, especially on a special occasion.

Paolo's Authentic Filipino Restaurant
First time having Filipino food in Calgary and I’m glad this was my first experience! The flavours were rich and deep, and the portion sizes were humongous! The crispy Pata was definitely the crown dish for lunch just due to the sheer size and presentation of it. Super crispy and flavourful pork, all piled a foot high, who could ask for more?

Nice spot for authentic Filipino food. Made fresh and hot. Portion is deceivingly filling and kept me full the whole day. Service staff was friendly and helpful answering questions to the dishes I was unfamiliar with.

Owner works hard cooking and serving food too. I don't usually get impressed with filipino food but that changed when I went here. 10/10 quality. Very good portions and food presentation.Relaxing as the restaurant smells like a spa and decor adorable. Just try it.

My first time at Paolo's or any place serving the food of the Philippines. Kind friendly staff. Cozy clean and tasteful environment. Both dishes we ordered were a new experience for us and we enjoyed it. I will definitely be bringing people here in the future.

Family run, locally owned and operated, with delicious authentic Filipino food. The owners put a lot of love into their cooking, and came out to say hi and chat for a personal touch. Will definitely be back.
