Domo Sushi

is this spicy salmon roll..? I am seriously asking.. fishes were not fresh at all. and it took ages to get my order. they didn’t even use the ingredient they should’ve used for my order, because they ran out of it. if you are a “rice lover” I recommend this place. because you can not taste anything but rice. not to mention over priced as well. this was the worst sushi places in Vancouver I ever visited.

Tasty food for an affordable price and served by the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.I ordered the sunflower roll and agedashi tofu. I love their agedashi tofu and was definitely in awe with the presentation of the sunflower roll. It was so adorable. They also give you hot green tea and refilled it whenever they see it empty. I love my green tea so this was definitely a huge bonus for me.When we arrived, it was empty and quiet but slowly more people would come in to do pick ups. We could tell a huge majority of them were regulars as the staff would just say “the regular?” Or some just started catching up with the owner. It was a very nice sight to see.Will definitely be back soon!

Family run Sushi place admidst the skyscrapers of downtown on Melville.Have a few tables for indoor dining and staff are friendly.I ordered a few sushi rolls and was served tea with regular refills.Gracious people and food was great. Prices are very good as well.

I usually don't write reviews, especially negative ones, but I feel the need to share my experience with those who take the time to come here during their lunch break.Let me be frank: the food I had was not good at all. It was my first time not leaving a tip because the sushi was far from fresh and the taste was just off.

My favourite local sushi spot! I love everything about this place from the quality of the sushi, to the most wonderful and friendly owners who are there every day! It’s also quite reasonably priced. I’ve never been disappointed with a single item that I’ve ordered - My favourite is the Wakame Salad :)

Coming from Alberta we are starved for fresh seafood and quality sushi in general. The two bento boxes we ordered (appetizer sashimi and regular sashimi) had significant portion sizes of fresh tuna, sockeye salmon, and shrimp tempura, along with miso soup and a fresh salad in one and stir fried greens with a peanut sauce in the other. We walked out full and happy for under $40.

I have nothing but praise to sing about Domo Sushi. I would rate 6 stars if I could. The best sushi restraunt I've ever been to for this price. We ate here as much as we could while we were here on vacation. I'm so fortunate we found them on the first day of out trip. Not only are their prices completely unbeatable and portions very large, but the food quality is stupendus. The menu is very large. There isn't much seating, but that's how you know a restraunt is good. Their udon soup was SO HOT so I had to wait a bit for it to cool down; but that would be good to order to-go because it would still be piping hot when you would get it at home. Their sushi plating was very pretty as well. They give you free green tea that is perfectly brewed. Their scallop quality was very fresh and sweet. The mochi was only $3 for 2 pieces and they were nice and large, very flavourful, just how I like them. The owners are incredibly friendly and the food came out very very quickly. They seem very familiar with their regulars that would come in and I love that. I wish we had Domo Sushi back home because they will be the thing I miss most from Vancouver. The area of town it's in is very safe as well and there is paid parking out front. I hope they are around for many years to come because I will be choosing my future hotels based on proximity to this restaurant.

Great service, crazy portions for the prices. Huge menu, loads of variety, made freshly and very quickly. Really nice little local / family-owned sushi spot. Would come here again every day if we weren’t flying home tomorrow; wish we didn’t discover so late in our trip.

A wonderful little place that you could easily miss if you weren't looking for it.Like other reviewers say, the staff is so wonderful, sweet and helpful, which makes the experience at Domo Sushi so unique.The best part is the speed at which the food comes.There were a couple of other customers in the restaurant and I was there pretty early (11:30am), but from when I ordered, the food was out within five minutes.Good portion size and tasty food.I had the Negitoro hand rolls, a spicy tuna roll and a spicy Salmon roll.In and out of the restaurant within 20 minutes.Not for large groups of 10+ because of the size of the dining area, but takeout is quick and staff is receptive and accommodating to takeout customers, as well.
