Plato's Closet Cambridge, ON

Sucks to have a make a review like this because I love shopping at Plato’s.This location has been an absolute nightmare and makes me not want to support Plato’s at all. I have been here on 5 separate occasions and have had an issue each time.My first visit I brought clothing in, and none of my bags were even checked, yet they made me wait an hour and a half to get my belongings back. I sent my husband in later on that day with the same items and they actually decided to purchase the items from him but completely disregarded me.On my second occasion I received no customer service and was completely ignored and disregarded by the staff there. They are incredibly rude and disrespectful and it’s not on a one time basis, it’s every single visit. I hate to make this about race but as a black woman I always feel so uncomfortable shopping here and I will not be returning.My husband went back today with 4 bags of his own items and was asked to wait 30 minutes for them to not go through the bags, he was then told that “ these items are filthy, you should maybe wash and fold clothes them before thinking about bringing them here”. These are all clothing items that I personally washed and packed for him to bring in. It’s embarrassing for them to have people like this represent their company. Don’t waste your time going to this location

The clothes are value village clothes and the staff are kind of rude . When I went in none of them even acknowledged that I was there. Then the girl checking me out didn't even ask if I wanted a bag and just went on her phone. Then when i went to write a review all i got was a nasty reply from the owner saying I tell my employees they don't have to deal with rude customers" as though I was rude when I was nothing but kind to them. so I definitely won't be shopping here again and I'll be telling friends and family :) Maybe learn some customer service skills."

Well..The staff is 99% teenagers, and very rude.Often when selling clothing here they ask for a phone number to call when they're done sorting- I've sat around waiting for a call or while in store and they simply don't say a darn thing..I've had them offer me 3$ for a New With Tags Lululemon top from the current season. At that rate I'm better off to take advantage of lulu's customer credit program. They're never friendly, and typically don't bother to even greet customers.

Been here the last 4 times and each time I come the buy counter is closed. Just wondering when is it ever open? I’ve came at different times of the day (morning, mid day etc..) and each time closed. I check the Instagram before coming and no notice that it’s closed, nothing posted on door either until you get in there. Not sure if the workers are just lazy but what’s the point of calling the store a buy and sell if you don’t buy anything. Workers are also extremely rude and bit*hy. Would rather use Brantford location.

went to drop off my clothes that were a mix of summer/fall/winter and waited over an hour to get a call and never received one. once i came back, they never took ANY of it! think twice before bringing in your items that can be sold for way more online ladies & gents

Not even gonna give you a star if I could. The people are grumpy and won't serve or help their customers. The clothes are all disgusting and either smell bad or have tears and rips in them. The floors are ALWAYS disgusting. Not to mention the change rooms always smelt like smoke. 1/10 wouldn't recommend.

Horrible experience, for the second time I have gone to this store. They don’t even go through your items. Tell you to wait 30 minutes then, they just tell you they don’t want them. Waste of time, drive 15 minutes more to Kitchener location. They are more reliable and have actual friendly staff.Talked down to and made felt dirty.If you bother reading reviews, heed my words and avoid this store. Go to Kitchener location.

The store is awkward to get to and didn't have much in XL/1X and hardly any purses. I understand this depends on people trading-in however it was disappointing. Also, some of the clothes were labeled as Sunday best" which isn't inclusive and feels unnecessary."

0 stars. I have a $40 gift card which I tried to redeem today with my purchase but none of the 3+ employees knew how to use it. After making me wait while they got a hold of the owner, I was informed I could not use it for another 2+ days. I came in as they had a Lululemon Drop today and asked if I was unable to use my gift card, if they could hold my items until the gift card would work on their machines and I was told they could not honour that. They already have my money ($40) and lost a sale from the rest of my purchase. The owner is clearly greedy and they have no care for returning customers which I was. Also, customer service does not exist at this store. No one smiles or says hi or helps you out. Very sad.

Beware!Do not go to this store with a backpack. They would hold your backpack near the cash counter and would most probably lose it.I went to the store at Hespeler road, gave my backpack to the ladies at the cash, and shopped for around 30 mins. After checkout i couldn't find my backpack anywhere. The explanation they provided was that someone else took my backpack.If you are incapable of protecting a backpack, you shouldn't put down such stupid rules in the first place. I have lost many personal documents in that bag and it is all fun for you guys.What's even more terrible is the fact that the ladies at the cash told me to go chase down the people who left the store in hope of finding my bag. LIKE IT'S MY FRICKING JOB.No wonder their ratings are going down in google.
