Very good Taiwanese popcorn chicken. It’s a bit spicy but not bad. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup was good and so was the pork belly dish I also ordered. The owner is very sweet and friendly. The veggies with the pork belly were good. There’s free tea and water you can fill up yourself.

Affordable pricing, and staff was very friendly, and owner served us tea with a warm smile. I ordered the seafood udon, but the bowl was mostly soup. My friend ordered the house special noodle with beef, but it didn't come with much beef. Tons of noodles though. If you have a peanut butter allergy, be warned because we tasted a hint of pb.

I’ve been looking for a place in Waterloo that serves authentic Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup and stumbled upon this place! The portions were super generous and packed with flavour. They have a wide variety of Taiwanese snacks and cooked meals. The perfect comfort food! Will definitely be coming back and recommending to all my friends. The owners are super friendly, patient and sweet.

Delicious food - the portions are generous, the food itself has a nice homemade/authentic quality to it - all for amazing prices. I gave a 20% tip and still paid under $20.On top of that, the owner is super sweet and welcoming. They ran out of beef soup for the Taiwanese beef noodle soup, but the owner kindly recommended the Dan Dan Noodles instead. It was super tasty, and the owner was very warm! Overall a really great experience. I'm definitely coming back again!

For $8.49 taxes in... this has to be one of the best value options near the UW area. The owner is super friendly as well which is a plus!For the food I ordered #10 pork chop on rice.. the pork was super crispy and flavourful, the veggies were all right and it came with pickled raddish as well. The next time if I were to order this again I would probably tell them to put less sauce on the rice. As it got soggy by the time I went back to the place I was staying.

I ordered a 3-spice chicken and Sauteed beef for takeout and the owner gave me 7 pieces of chicken and one bowl of beef with the other bowl empty (see pictures attached). He also added two bowls of rice which I never asked for. Taste was okay but portions were extremely small so not the best value when you have so many other options around in Waterloo.

The house special chicken was extremely spicy for my taste, but I liked the combination of spices in it. The chicken was crunchy on the outside and chewy inside. Also, it wasn't oily like other stir-fried chicken I had in other places before.The rice smelled great and was a necessity considering how spicy the chicken was.Taste of Taiwan is definitely not a fancy restaurant, but its staff is nice and friendly. I would recommend this place to you if you have been to Taiwan before or if you feel adventurous and want to try new things.

8.99 plus taxes for a full meal with 2 sides.Value for money - checked.Taste - checked.Location - checked.The food really has what the name suggests, a taste of home. It’s not outstanding in any way but it does remind you of an amazing home cooked meal.Definitely recommend the fried chicken here. Cheaper and better than most you can get in the region.

Just like all the other reviews said, we also got the friendliest service, authentic Taiwanese food, I was instantly teleported back home. The owner was chatting with my dad in Taiwanese, what a treat!
