Lou Dawg's Southern BBQ
Great little bar with big taste offerings, and great beer and beverage variety. Nightly specials so be sure to make a reservation or you may not get a table. The home smoked meats and chicken is wonderful and their wigs age the biggest i have ever seen. Parking can be tight. Great service, very fast and friendly. A must on your list of great places to eat.

My favourite wings on this solar system !!!! classic, with the whole wing . you want saucy you say ? You want to be full you say ? LOU DAWGS ... did I also mention MON/WED $7 Wings with a drink... also they have $5 shots on some great whiskeys ( if your into that ) ... I don't even work here and I can't stop telling people about it. It so quaint and awesome I could go on forever, go on take a look !!!They have more than wings but I couldn't get enough of them

Delicious bbq but can we talk a out the bourbon selection? If you are a fan of this whiskey, this is one place in the city that has a HUGE variety. Small batch, single barrel, limited releases. What a great way to have a taste of bottles you never see in the area LCBO. I enjoyed a Michters 20 year limited release and a Bakers (the often overlooked sour mash small batch from the Beam family). Lota more high end bourbons that can only be found in secondary markets or the US.But I digress...have to remember the bbq!!! We started with an app of jalapeno corn dogs. The dogs are smoked in house and served with a sweet honey mustard doping sauce. Delicious. Also ordered was the Southern salad for the vegetarian in our group. Hats off to the bbq folks for having something on the menu for everyone.We opted for three meats. The chicken was suprising moist. I usually don't order pulled chicken, I find it too dry. The pulled pork was good, flavorful and tender. The brisket was the favourite of all three meats. Would definitely order that again. The two sides we chose were sweet potato mash and French fries. The sweet potato mash was a little to sweet and heavy on spices, possibly cinnamon. I would have like macncheese as a side, but we can't have e everything!! The thick cut fries were dusted in a season salt. We saw some sandwiches go by that were very generous portions.They usually have specials every night of the week. The patio is spacious and comfortable, with a selection of tables to sit at as wrll as a few stand up bars. The inside had a fair amount of seating, as well as plenty of seating at the bar.I look forward to a return visit to try some more bourbons and more menu items.

Got the fish tacos and wow was it awful. No crispy onions and no cilantro as advertised and absolutely tasteless. The taco shell that I did eat was stale. I requested this for pick up so unfortunately I wasn't aware of the mistakes until I got home. Very disappointing. First time and quite possibly the last.

An unassuming front on George street, nestled among community businesses which have slowly reclaimed the extension of what used to be considered Hess Village. Lou Dawgs represents a serious attempt to bring the authenticty of southern barbeque to central Hamilton, and in my opinion, this place is well worth a try.The first thing that really struck me was the attention to detail in the decor, it really makes you feel like your sitting in some round-the-way meat pit in Memphis, while the aromas coming from the kitchen arrest your senses. The servers are young and energentic, very friendly and willing to take the time to walk you through the menu and answer all of your questions. I would say the beer selection is about average, and the prices are reasonable. I didn't get a chance to take a look at other wine and spirits.The food at Lou Dawg's is excellent, amazing smoke and all the meat is extremely flavourful. We ordered the three meat platter, the 'Loutine' (chef smash poutine) and the dry rub smoked wings with a side order of jalepeno corn bread. The meat platter was a bit small (for two) but introduces you to the trifecta of smoke meats that they specialize in, and it was excellent. The dry rub wings were smoky, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, a really nice alternate take on pub wings. The Loutine was ample with an abundance of toppings, and loaded with flavour (a couple can order a large one of these for $15 and both be uncomfortably stuffed!).Overall it was a great experience, most notably the food and the ambience. You should expect to spend about $15-25 per person here, or closer to $40 p.p if you are having drinks. A short side note, its cash only, and I highly suggest you bring some ahead of time. Long story short, the ATM inside of the restaurant ran out of money while I was trying to withdraw, forcing me to trek out into Hess Village to find another one.

Very good fries. Slow-cooked meat platter is recommended. Clean and decorated environment and good location in Hamilton Downtown!Every week there are specials like slow-cooked wings or beers that are very worth the price.

Absolutely awesome food! Ordered through UBER. The only reason I didn't give a 5☆ is because I didn't receive my full order. Kitchen was closed so I couldn't get the rest of it that night which really sucked. It was late and we were hungry.

Love this place. The wings are a bit different but are tasty and fall off the bone good. They have a good selection of craft beers and cans of some off beat stuff. They also have a nice wall of bourbon and whiskey. There is always good music on the weekends and trivia on Tuesday nights. If you like southern smoke you will love this place.

Amazing as always! The fries are amazing (cajun fries) and I ordered the veggie wrap. Delish and affordable, staff are always friendly and prompt as well! My fav place for food in the village!
