Sonder Rideau

The location is great, the room is modern and clean, and the price is good. There is absolutely everything that you need to feel comfortable on your trip. A special THANKS to Tatiana who was very welcoming, friendly; helped me with check-in and gave me great advice. The AC is a bit noisy, but works great especially when outside was +30 and humid. I'd totally recommend this hotel to everybody.

Agree with some other reviews - the value of this hotel gives it a 5star review. But it is not a 5star accommodation...The app, check in and out, booking...all this was very smooth. We didn't need help during our stay.Wifi reliable. A/C worked great.One bedroom unit was beautiful - for the price it's amazing. It was very clean, great kitchenette, huge king size bed and lots of space to move around, especially for our 3yr old. Son slept on an inflatable toddler mattress on the floor in the bedroom and there was still tons of space.Other rooms, hallway sound, other running pipes - can be quite loud. But it wasn't disturbing. They do provide ear plugs if you're sensitive to it...we had a sound machine for our son and we all slept amazing. Great black out curtains.But you cannot beat the location, the price, the cleanliness. Will stay here again for sure.Parking garage from 3rd party underneath hotel- never had an issue getting in or out or finding a space. It's small. But it's downtown... you should expect this. 25$/24hours, in/out privileges. Was great.

Downtown location that is easy to walk to all attractions. Stayed in the 1 bedroom and it’s bigger than most condos in Toronto! It’s super spacious and plenty of cooking supplies. Farm Boy is a short distance and the windows open partially. The bathroom was gorgeous and the bed was really comfortable. It provided more closet space than we even needed. The outside makes it look unassuming but it’s quite lovely inside. I stayed in a higher floor so had nice enough views.Staff on the app are helpful and can answer all questions in app within minutes. If anything is wrong, use the app and they send someone up ASAP.10/10 would stay in another Sonder hotel.

Wonderful location, I think we were the first guests in the room since it was renovated. Seamless booking and check in. Well equipped kitchen, everything we needed for our stay. I had never heard of Sonder when I booked, but seems like the ideal mix of air b&b type accommodations with consistency of a hotel.

On Jun, 19th, 2023, around noon time, The guy at the front desk was very helpful. He has delivered 100/100 perfect customer service, and very accommodating to my needs. I would definitely recommend my friends to stay with Sonder when they visit Ottawa. Apart from that, great location, walking distance to great foods and attractions. Room was clean and my room smelt good. some rooms have their own washer/dryer. Convenient to use

I'm giving this hotel a five-star review because the value was unbeatable, but that doesn't mean that it was perfect. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth and didn't waste time, the interior design of the place is very trendy and nice, our room was impeccably clean, etc. Unfortunately, however, the kitchenette in our room lacked a stove/oven; it really just had a microwave and a kettle as means of cooking (I understand this to be the case with some rooms but not others, so please pay more attention than I did to the photos on the website before booking). Moreover, the luggage-storage lockers, while nice, were challenging to access after our check-out because our entry code was disabled.The value of this place is still unbeatable and I'll absolutely stay here again.

Me and my girlfriend stayed the weekend here for a birthday trip and it was absolutely fantastic! The entire staff was very kind, friendly, and accommodating and made the stay as good as it was. I had mentioned that the purpose of our trip was a birthday celebration and the staff went above and beyond to decorate the room complete with banners and birthday balloons and an assortment of chocolate. The room itself was very large and spacious, and we had no issues making ourselves feel right at home. Using the Sonder app to unlock the building doors/elevator/room was another added bonus and was very convenient. The only thing to note is though the kitchen is fully stocked with cutlery and cookware, there is only salt and pepper in the cabinets, so ensure to bring your own seasonings/oil.

I really loved my stay at Sonder Rideau but I’m not sure if I would call it professionally cleaned. When I arrived someone had left a window cracked and there were some bugs that got in. The window sills were also very dusty and had some dead bugs. But who cares about a window sill. The rest of the suite looked very clean. One thing I really appreciate about sonder is that they supply cleaning supplies for you, so if you have an issue you can fix it yourself. This is worth the cheap price. If you need anything you can ask the staff or get it from the main lobby supply cabinet. Rooms come with a dishwasher, full size fridge, microwave, oven, electric kettle, coffee maker and toaster as well as tons of cutlery, dishes and utensils. So you don’t have to eat out and can cook if you want. I had some issues with the wifi and wouldn't call it fast. My stay was very quiet and barely heard any neighbours at all. If you are staying in room 1017, beware of the bathroom sink. The water pressure on it is crazy and if you put the handle even half up, your clothes will be soaked.Another thing I will add that I forgot about before is that they do not have recycling. I think it would be a really great addition as well as compost potentially in the future.Also the rooms and decor are very nice and they do look very similar to the pictures.

Stayed here for two nights and had a great experience. Location is perfect for visiting Parliament and the surrounding area, less than a 10 minute walk. Room was clean and had all the amenities. I highly recommend downloading their app and setting up a mobile key (you don't have to do anything, you literally just hit the set up button) and it allows your phone to act as a key fob to scan into the hotel, the elevator, and your room.This place is different from other hotels in that it feels very self guided. There are staff at the front during the day, but otherwise it's up to you to request a room cleaning or other services via the app. I'm not sure if any of the rooms have a nice view, I know mine faced an office building. But all of that aside, for the price of this place, I still felt like I was staying at a high end hotel. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay at a really nice hotel but doesn't care about the luxury experience.

Wonderful check-in, amazing rooms, unbeatable prices. Sonder’s Rideau location is very nice and there are no comparable hotels in Ottawa with similar prices. Ours was 100$/night for a 1 bedroom apartment not including promotions. The kitchen has everything you could ever want other than a blender. Bathroom is very nice. Know that every room is different and not necessarily as advertised.Now on to the less ideal things with our room. Pictures showed 2 tvs, including one in the bedroom. This was the case for us at previous stays, but not this time. We only had the 1 tv in the living room. The sliding doors don’t line up nicely. The flooring in the shower irritates your skin after just 5-10 minutes so try and keep your showers short.I strongly recommend you reserve at least a few weeks in advance and keep checking daily. The prices change constantly and you can usually save $10-50/night depending on the room.
