Great Blue Heron Hotel

I am a frequent visitor to the casino. This was my first time spending time at the hotel. I was disappointed that it didn't have a coffee maker or kettle.

Room was ok. No services, had to ask for clean towels, carried them up myself.Asked for the one free night, 2nd night for 99.00 deal. Reception did not know what she was doing. When we returned the 2nd night we were locked out. Cards deactivated. They thought we had skipped out. Could not get breakfast until 8 a.m. coffee only, offered in a common area. Casino large and roomy workers there were friendly. My daughterJoined us from Haliburton . Got her own room. So front desk knew we were there. She told them. Will not be back. Over all experience....zip. it took forever to check in, lady talked with a whisper and still messed up no matter how we explained. Not a great experience. I came from Alberta to visit family. The old Blue Heron was far superior. Going big is not always better. Highly insulted at having our cards deactivated.

This is a really nice, pretty new hotel. The style is classy. Check in was fast and very friendly. Our suite was beautiful with 2 washrooms, a kitchenette, living room with a TV and a beautiful bedroom with a TV and ensuite with a soaker tub and separate shower. A great place to celebrate a birthday! Can't wait to go back!

Worst hotel experience. hey kept pushing back our check in time after being asked repeatedly how much longer. After waiting two hours they then told us that we had to pay in full" even though we had previously paid. Absolutely furious with the disrespectful treatment of customers. If check in is at 3- I should be checking in at 3.Never coming back again. Thanks for ruining our long weekend."

Needed to get out our apartment for a few days so took advantage of the promotional offer on the rooms and stayed from the 18th to the 21st of April. Based on other reviews I knew what to bring,coffee, tea,kettle etc etc.rooms were very clean and still had that new smell to the hotel.Staff was very friendly at front desk and food in the casino restaurant was reasonable and delicious. Only issue we had was the lighting in the room was very dim but staff at front desk offered to give us an extra lamp for the room. Would definitely stay here again.

Cons:After finally climbing into bed (comfortable) there was a gaggle of children playing tag in the hallway with no sign of parents. Very disturbing in itself. However well after 10pm the fire alarm was tripped (falsely) and continued to sound for approximately an hour or more (on and off) with a nauseating blinding flashing light in the room. With absolutely no word from Front desk or security about the goings on. (We were told not to evacuate after checking with the desk)Tv only has a few channels 90% sportsTheirs is next to no light in the room. Unable to read or play a game after dark.Shower is hot but flow is not adjustable..like being stabbed by one point of pressure. And no fan in bathroomNo pen or paper or local info whatsoever in the room.PROS. Comfy bed, nice tv pictureVery nice staff close to casino.

Received a offer for a free room. Took advantage and spend the night in twin queen room facing the casino. Room was on the small side, but it was cozy, warm, everything you needed was there,TV, fridge, hair dryer, soap, shampoo, 2 paper cups and ice machine 2&4 floors only. Note bring your own glass drinking glasses. Unfortunately, it snowed which meant they had to clean the parking lot. If Ido it again, I would stay on the garden side during winter months so would not hear the snowplows.Casino was on the quite side, had the choice of any machine,Restaurant we ordered 2 fish and one chip dinner to split. Brought 2 large pieces of fish and chips that met our needs. Great meal.On the positive side we both came out winners $$$$ at the end of our mini get away. Hope they offer another free night so we can do it all over again.

First time here, lovely rooms, quiet and comfortable. Beds/mattresses/pillows very comfortable. Soaps were very luxurious. Would love to have microwave in room for heat pack. Lots of geocaching close by. I will be back!!!

I am giving 3 stars because although the hotel is new and comfortable, for a casino hotel they should offer in room coffee, or 24/7 coffee in lobby and they do not. They also require in addition to your credit card, a $50 deposit for room charges even though they offer NO amidites that would be chargeable such as room service or spa service or laundry service. I'm still fighting to get the deposit removed from my credit card so beware!! seems like a rip off to me.

We got a free twin queen bed room. The rooms were great and was stocked with a lot of bathroom necessities. The only thing about the room was that the room was that it was lacking lighting aside from dim bedside lamps.
