Atrium at Kew Beach Retirement Residence

On the surface this home looks fantastic. Look deeper and you will find glaring problems with the administrator (Joni), and the owner(s) of the facility. The administrator in charge has zero past experience in the healthcare field, zero....and is merely a friend/wife I believe, of one the owners.And like most independently owned places like this, it’s all about the money, you would fooling yourself if you thought otherwise. During the corona pandemic they invited people and employees in from another hospital without notifying the residents and families, leaving them vulnerable to the virus. Two days later after they made this sudden move, the government mandated law that there would be no cross pollination of frontline staff to control the virus. I warned staff and the administrator via email that this was a bad idea but they went ahead with it anyway. Against even the recommendation of their own staff! Leaving me no choice I pulled my mother out of the facility, and had to leave my fiancé alone in Asia to come back and caregive for my mother. I am now dealing with the repercussions and this has turned my life inside out and upside down. These people have their bottom line as their top priority, care a distant second. I would not recommend this place, period. And this is just the tip of the iceberg ladies and gentlemen I can go on about these dumb dumb’s. Absolutely disappointed with this Facility to say the least. The one star I have left is too good for them.

Hopefully the level of health care for Transitional Patients at Atrium at Kew Beach is good, physically the facility is outdated and in need of repair. This is a picture of one of the rooms on the ground level, very depressing not conducive to healing.

It is a retirement home in a nice neighbourhood. Being right in the main street, not much that the residents can do in the front of the building. Can't say anything about the inside of the building. Outside is well maintained.
