Seaweed and Sod Farm Bed and Breakfast
A lovely Kempt Head bed-and-breakfast about 45 km away from Baddeck off the Cabot Trail. A very casual rural setting awaits, with a friendly menagerie of two dogs, a cat, a llama, sheep, and two beautiful horses. The two bedrooms and shared bathroom were very well decorated and very clean. The intimate living room and dining room downstairs were ours to use. TERRI, our host, was very welcoming, and prepared a lovely & healthy country breakfast. Quiet, rural, casual this B&B offered our party of four a very friendly, inviting East Coast Cape Breton experience. June 2023

The view. Is gorgeous! Also the host (Terri) is super friendly and fun to chat with. Have to say I didn't love the shared bathroom situation but the bed was super comfortable and we were served a healthy and tasty breakfast

A little out of the way bed and breakfast worth the trip if you are an animal lover. Nice, clean rooms, lots of space to relaxing the evening and our host was very accommodating. She made us a wonderful breakfast and gave us a tour of her farm despite the ultra cold day. Was a fun experience and I hope to stay there again.

I think you can tell a lot about people by the way animals are treated. The bed was not comfortable and the kitchen was not clean. It is very far out of way and the restaurants that was recommended was awful. What upset us the most was the way the animals were cared for.

Seaweed and Sod Farm Bed and Breakfast
When I think of what makes a great bed and breakfast, there are certain tangible things -- good food, comfortable rooms, etc. -- then there are the intangible things -- the location, the vibe, the magic of the people and place. This place had the magic we were seeking in our long journey out to Cape Breton Island. Terri and Dave share a truly special place. It was a particular delight for our young children to tour their farm and meet the animals. We enjoyed rambling in the paths and fields above their house, including a perfect star watching session.

What a fantastic place. An actual working farm, surrounded by water, hosted by an amazing host. We quite enjoyed meeting all the pets and felt safe a protected with Fauna on guard. The rooms were comfortable and everything that was needed was supplied. Our host, Terri, was super accommodating and fed us a fantastic breakfast in the morning. The only thing we didn't like was we couldn't stay there longer. Highly recommend.
