The Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre

Well I always have a great time at Aretha Franklin. Have the best performances with the beat view in the city. Only place you can see a concert and look at another country. Here are some of the shows I been to. This past weekend, X, Dogg Pound, MJG and 8ball plus more, Kool and the Gang, SOS band, Kem, SWV, Brown Stone,Melanie Fiona, Carl Thomas. I go every year. Real Detroiter

Soul. Aretha was the queen of soul and the venue named after her is good for your soul. Set in the beautiful riverside park in Detroit, the Detroit Riverwalk, it can be peaceful and serene. Our concert started slowly on a warm summer night with the river flowing by behind the stage. Easy to get to and easy to find but arrive early or you can get caught up in slow parking lines. Even better go to one of many nearby restaurants before your event and walk or shuttle over. I think my favorite thing was the open air breeze during the show and how friendly everyone was.

Beautiful venue. Convenient parking across the street for $20 in a fenced lot. Right on the water. Stunning!

Excellent facilities, great riverfront views. Rodrigo and Gabriella show was just awsome. Perfect setting for their performance.

This venue is really special. Great acoustics, amazing view of the Detroit river, intimate but still leaves room to spread out. Everyone working was super friendly.

This place is absolutely gorgeous the views are amazing. The people are some of the best folks who I've ever met in a long time. Shout out to J5 and the Crew.

This is one of the best venues I have seen a show at. It is a family owned venue and not by one of the big corporations. The staff are extremely nice with seat service for drinks and attendants in the bathrooms.

Visited the first time for the Anthony Hamilton concert. I loved the venue but the prices were insane! We bought a small bag of chips, a tequila and tonic and a Gatorade for 38.00. The tequila was in a tiny shot glass cup. So, I don't recommend partaking of their drinks. Go to Bob's barge beforehand and have a nice cocktail. The sound was great and all of the seats were great seats. Getting out was a hassle! There needs to be logistical assistance in getting out so that you don't feel like you are being shoved all over the place. This logistical nightmare extended to getting out of the parking lots. There is no one directing traffic and it was just a free for all. That experience alone made me question coming back. I may do so but I will walk from a mile or 2 away to avoid such trauma next time.
