It's hard to know what score to give Hotel Laurier because for what it is, they do it well, , the prices are very affordable, but the accommodations are student dorm calibre. The place is clean (but stained and worn in some spots) and quiet. The decor is cinder-block special. The mattresses are four inches of vinyl covered foam. You share a washroom with one other room -- although no one was in the other room while I was there. Decent wi-fi by hotel standards -- no ethernet. There is a shared kitchen and lounge with a fridge and stove. You are on your own in terms of maid service, but there are friendly students on the registration desk. Please note, this is summer-semester accommodation only as it is university dorms the rest of the year.

Would have been a lot less stressful if better information was provided about where the parking lot entrances are (Regina Street, not King) & whether one should park in the lot without a sign, or in front where the no parking signs are, while registering.Once I'd figured that out, everything was fine; the bed was surprisingly comfortable, everything was clean, and the employee at the front desk was very helpful.

Well, this is more of a dorm room than hotel, but it is really cheap and the staff is super friendly. It is definitely a great value for your money.

4 stars for value only. 2 stars in general. It's less than 1 star in comparison to a real hotel.I stayed here on a visit to KW a while ago. I ended up booking a week and it was about the price of 2 nights at a regular hotel at the time. You must keep in mind that this is not a normal hotel. If all you only want a place to sleep, this is worth a look.

Well located if your are visiting the Laurier University campus or the UW campus. Also, there are plenty of food choices and coffee stores around.

Very poor this is a student's accommodation not hotel. Not clearing not even provisions. It is even more costly than most 3 star hotel.

I stayed here for two nights.. good stay overall, for the price I paid, it is what I expected. There was a mix up at the front desk on my reservation where they gave me a room that was not cleaned, the staff member quickly recifitied this and gave me another room. Front desk attendants also very helpful and friendly. Here are the list of the pros and cons below.Pro's-- prime location, close by to many amenities food, coffee shops, 7 eleven, banks,- bus stop very close by (LRT stop 8 mins walk away)- free parking- has A/C! (essential in summer.. the U of Waterloo one does not have a/c!)- Comfortable beds- Excellent Wifi.. (100mbs)- Sink and Vanity in RoomCons- the interior of the room looks like a jail cell, (yellowish brown)- the lounge area does not have any pots and pans where you can cook- no utensils in the kitchen- shared bathroom (although when I was there I do not believe anyone stayed in the room next to me)Would I stay here again? Sure I will, but the next time to be more comfortable I would1. Bring waterproof slippers (the floors are ice cold)2. Bring some disposable forks, spoons and knives3. come with a face towel (they do not provide these)4. maybe bring your own pillow if you are driving in.. the ones they provide are not the best.

Good basic accommodations for budget conscious travellers. Wish they'd figure out the internet issue though.
