Children's Aid Society of London & Middlesex

CAS is a discriminative organization. Especially to those that are minority, or first nations. They have been in my life, majority of my life, and profit on wasting people's time. I just closed a file not that long ago, and already they want to open another one. I think they need to stop harassing me and my children, and start looking for REAL cases rather than making easy-money on old cases. Let my family move on.

I called in regards of my friends mental health and the women who answered the phone said “is this really something you need to be calling about” all I wanted was something saying that he’s alive and doing well. There was no need what so ever for the women to be rude about it.

Would give a no star if possible. I have been in care for 1 year and I've been moved 9 times. Like I get that I've done things myself to do that as well but no kid should have to go into the system for their mental health just for their mental health to become worse than it was when it started. I have been in an amazing placement for the past five months and now CAS is saying they're going to move me for relatively no reason. Do not get involved with CAS if at all possible. They ruin children's lives and don't care if homes abuse the kids.Then when you go to submit complaints you're told that you're not eligible for that complaint. Not to mention, when you submit an ICRP (Internal complaint review pannel) they do everything they can to manipulate you into going the informal route.0/5 stars.

They care more about protecting themselves than those they 'serve'. Poor communication, everything done oral, no paper trails, falsified meeting dates, creative interpretation liberties from interviews, to a point a professional said 'I never would have said that. I would get sued.' Recommendations with no support to fulfill. Problems are magnified with high worker and supervisor turn over, each with their own interpretation of the rules. They did ten times more damage than good. Demand everything in writing!

Horrible service and unprofessional treatment. Called twice. First time the intake officer was very kind and listened to concerns. Second time called about a month after with documented updates about a child I believe is being abused and recieved attitude from the intake officer - you're calling NOW?". I had to explain I was told to document over numerous weeks and call back when I had a considerable amount of information to report. It seems that information is not consistently communicated among the workers at this location. Horrible attitude from somebody who works for an agency who claims to care about the wellbeing of children."

I’m really glad that I closed my file with these people. CAS is a joke.

I don't even know where to start?! Baby stealers for one. I'm actually starting a case against them for have a foster parent coming in to see my son while in nicu saying he was apprehended doing kangaroo care with my son, I recently found out the didn't even have a warrant and either way I won and had to fight to keep my own child in court, so how was he in their custodyand a foster parent (which in court papersserved after the fact stated they were looking for a foster home". My poor son now suffers from an attachment disorder. Took him until 3 years old to even want to kiss

I should've spoken years ago instead of allowing your company to be harassing us time and time againWhen I was given noticed that I was pregnant I contacted these people myself to make sure I had everything in orderLittle did I know you don't need to contact them period or else they blame you for your choice.They not only took my child but kept her for 4 months after labour without any contact with me.You left a huge hole in our hearts because of this and then you only allowed us to see eachother once a week.I'm so glad I proved to the courts your misdeedsAnd now you keep contacting me saying you have reports. Man not one year have you left me alone and you bring up false allegations along with lies

Unfortunately, we've recently had to deal with CAS and the experience has been harrowing at best. Even when offered video proof of a child potentially being the subject of violence, they refuse to even investigate the concern. The supervisor refused to view the video and said it's not the kind of thing they investigate and a child fearing they may be hit in the head and begging to not be hit is a 'learned behaviour from daycare.' There is a distinct bias against men (3 separate occasions with different staff members) and I would strongly recommend, be you man or woman, not to deal with this organization unless you have already engaged legal representation. One party lied, stating CAS ordered the removal of children, and even when that lie was verified and proven to be false (the police corroborated that there was no such order), CAS allowed those children to still be taken away by the abducting party. Proceed with caution lest you be the recipient of their bias and mismanagement of familial disputes.

No point, they don’t really help you.. just take the info and give you hope then let you down. Even with serious things like being hospitalized and exposed to unsafe driving and drug use. They don’t tell you anything, and basically they tell you oh we don’t know whoever did it just gets a slap on the wrist and let’s hope they learned their lesson and won’t do it again.The justice system is fudged up in Canada. I’ve been through criminal and family court and dealt with CAS. It’s all quite sad how everything gets handled. So disappointed in my government.
