Cineplex Cinemas Markham and VIP

Since we're here in Canada on vacation, I've decided to surprise my hubby on finding a Cantonese movie while we're here. It's been 17 years since we've watched a Chinese movie together since Hong Kong!To my luck, I located this theater only 6 minutes from our hotel and decided one this super popular movie starting Dayo Wong which we were both HUGE fans of. Movie was fun and excellent and hubby was super surprised and Uber happy!We parked outside and it was a windy night but close enough to walk for a few minutes. We will definitely visit again next time we're in Canada. We promised each other we will come back every year just to catch a fun Chinese movie!

The VIP lounge at this theatre was great. Great service and very well decorated. But I can't help to notice that 99.99% of the famous actors framed in the VIP Lobby area were all men. I saw Sissy Spacek, and she was with another man in that picture. There must of been 20-30 frames up. All men. Didn't know women never acted in any films. Interesting...

Amazing Film selection, great how they cater to the surrounding community. The VIP experience was Ok. Service was fantastic. Bar, Atmosphere and Lounge vibe is fantastic. I gave it 4 stars because do to space the VIP seats are the older ones. No recliner and No heating. I wish this was posted on the site so you aren’t surprised when you lean back and theres no footrest.

Staff are very attentive, polite and are pretty quick. Food is generally pricey as expected from any movie theatre, but I found their drinks great. The fish bowls are well worth it, but be warned, it's a lot of liquid so you might have to use the bathroom mid way through the movie

I went here in the past for multiple regular movies. Today, I decided to try their VIP movie ticket. This review is mostly centered on the VIP side of things.The VIP lounge is essentially a miniature sports bar. It opened on Tuesday around 5:45pm, which was 30 minutes before the first showtime that evening.The VIP lounge is advertised as a place everyone can go to eat, relax and get a drink. You don't even need a ticket to get in!I estimate the lounge can sit around 40 people. The sports bar analogy is in full effect with multiple TV monitors, a billiards table, and the culinary offerings.At the lounge, I ordered the fish tacos (picture attached), which were 3 for 15 dollars (with tax) as part of the Taco Tuesday special. I genuinely thought it was restaurant-quality. The sauce was really good and it wasn't too fishy.The environment was clean and beautiful. The lounge staff seemed a bit low (one waitress, and two bartenders). Most of the staff are assigned to delivering the food to the theatres rather than working with the customers in the lounge. The worker disparity did not affect anything; I still got my order at my table within 5 minutes. The waitress who took my order was an absolute gem of a person who helped me choose an item and he engaged in some light conversation. I just wanted to note down the worker disparity for customers that may come on busier days.I have attached their food menu because the Cineplex app does an injustice to the amount of items on offer.I definitely can see the appeal of coming to the VIP Lounge without a movie ticket. I personally would recommend coming for a Tuesday (15 dollar for 3 Taco Tuesday special, cheaper movie tickets) or Wednesday(45 dollar Date night special, see attached menu).Now I will transition to talking about the rest of the VIP" experience.-The theatre chairs are similar to Landmark Cinemas (couch chairs with leg space)-No children!-Overpriced (but GOOD) popcorn: large butter layered popcorn with water costed as much the tacos-Anything you order is delivered to your seat up to 10 minutes into the movie-Nothing special about the movie's quality itself (VIP can't be combined with DBOX

Best take away. The large popcorn was LARGE. We had to safe some for the next day. I don’t recall seeing anyone walking away with an empty box.Overall very nice place. The lounge is a bit worn. There weren’t that many washroom stalls so we had to wait in line for a bit. The washrooms were a bit dirty.The staff was very pleasant and I quite enjoyed the VIP experience. Would try again and would recommend.

Cineplex VIP is located here, compared to Eglington VIP this location is much better in terms of convinience , parking & accessibility. Totally i feel this location better for me. Customer service i felt the same everywhere as few ppl are not at all customer friendly or accomodative. Two mens washrooms door handle was not functioning today and due to this I was unable to lock the door. I was unable to book my food order at my seat even before the start of my cinemas screening and i had to the bar desk to order food to be served at my seat. Food was good and delivered at reasonable time. Apart from washroom issue rest everything was ok. Compared to Eglington i will recommend this VIP location. Car parking space are sufficient, calm and peaceful location

Decided to buy the VIP tickets which included a lounge and option to order (pay) food/drink items either to be eaten in lounge before the movie starts or inside the theater, arrived at lounge 60mins before showtime.Numerous tv screens with local sports inside or you can sit in their outside patio for some fresh air.Firstly, plenty of staff on hand to handle a slightly over 50% movie attendance, they were courteous and were customer oriented. Food/drink items were served within a reasonable time. Staff takes your order and delivers to you in lounge or inside the theater before the movie starts.Staff are also on-hand inside theater to take your orders, service stops when movie starts.Ordered a burger/fries to eat in lounge as I wasn't sure if eating food while watching a movie would have been a wise choice, maybe next time. Stella draft tap beer arrived nicely cold.Burger meat was dry, reminded me of the typical fast food burgers you would find at McDonald's or Burger King, however they were generous with the lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup toppings which worked well with the meat/bun. Fries were hot and crispyIndividual private toilets was a nice personalized benefitTheater seats are large leather with individual attached tray tables, spring loaded reclining backrest. Seats/floors very clean, no stickiness or musty smells.I did order a layered butter popcorn ($2.50 extra for butter). Can't watch a movie without it as I can't duplicate the buttered popcorn at home without making a mess. Delivered before movie started while inside theaterA very different and enjoyable movie experience,

What this nonsense?They keep the box office closed and use the concessions stand to sell both admission tickets and concessions. See the line?Sunday April 30, 2023Still no changes at this theatre. Busy Sunday and yet again, only 2 concessions meant to handle ticket sales and good. Fire the manager!

I'm so in to it. The cinema is clean and staff are very welcoming. They are located in the top floor so don't miss out. They also have Chinese movies as well.
