Better off not even bothering to go to this emergency unit they are beyond understaffed and cannot give patients the attention they require. Waited 3 hours for nothing. I went home in the same position I went there in.

I know we have a virus and stuff going around, but the wait is horrendous idk what's going on here but they are so unorganized and nurse's seem to not care, or pass information I don't know. I will make the trip to Hamilton or a near by hospital because this one is a joke.

After writhing in acute abdominal pain for 6 hours for unknown reasons, I called an ambulance. It took maybe 10 minutes to get through reception and into a bed. They had me on IV and medicated quickly, then MRI and Xray. Kidney stone. That stupid, tiny little rock caused unbearable pain. They gave me meds and advice, there's not a lot more to do but bear through it with pain meds at home. Everyone there was polite and attentive and my gracious thanks goes to the staff there. This sounds contrary to many of the reviews here but what a lot of people don't think about is these people are over worked, underpaid and burnt out. Of course they're going to be cranky sometimes, especially if you really shouldn't be there or you're treating them like trash. It's not their fault for long wait times, they don't want a packed emerg either. If you want to blame someone, talk to Doug Ford. Those that get prompt attention are those that are suffering or at risk the most. I know, it's awful but the staff is not to blame.Thank you BGH.

Understaffed in my opinuon, but encountered kindness from the emergency, see and treat nurses & doctors, and several others I encountered during testing. Their was a younger man at the emergency, who made sure patients in the waiting room were looked after - even while on his break. It's never a good reason to visit, but a caring experience in my books.

I’ve never in my entire life of living in Brantford have ever been treated so badly! I went into the ER 3 times in 48 hours. I went in the first night with horrible back and side pain, I got seen pretty quickly after I complained to them about how much pain I was in. And then the doctor sees me and tells me I’m passing a kidney stone, gives me pain meds, then books me a ultrasound appointment and then sends me on my way. I come back in the morning and get my ultrasound. Then wait in the ER, then gets the results saying “that I’m passing a kidney stone”. The doctor gives me meds and sends me home. I come back later that night and I’m in so much pain and I go back and see the doctor and they tell me I have a “fatty liver” like how does kidney stones turn into a “fatty liver” ugh Bgh you need to get better doctors! And while I’m waiting the one nurse leaves the door open when she is getting a urine sample from child! And the nurses were standing in the hallway talking about their personal life! BGH I’m disappointed in you!

My family and I just recently left the emergency room. My son had a high fever and we arrived around 5:40am. The triage nurse was very nice as well as registration. However by 7:20am we wanted an estimate on the wait time. There was only one other family in the waiting room (when we arrived there was a family and 2 other people). We got a really poor and rude response from a nurse/staff woman with a blunt shoulder length bob cut. My husband asked if we can have an estimate of the wait time and she responded with we have had people wait 6 hours" and my husband reponded that that is understandable when the emergency room is full but there is one other family so if we can just get some estimate because our baby has a high fever. She replied with "we see hundreds of babies a day" as well as an mentioning the time we waited so far is nothing for an emergency room. She also mentioned doctors don't get in until 8am and she won't have an idea for about the next hour or two. What is the point of an emergency room with no doctors? I really don't appreciate the rude and poor response about "we see hundreds of babies a day" this felt belittling and very crass. We should have just gone to Hamilton Children's Hospital which has treated us way better on multiple occasions. She has ruined our experience and did not help at all in proving a feeling that we or our son will be cared for."

How can they call themselves emerg? We went in for coughing up blood at 5 am, and spoke to some others there. People who had been there for 11 hours were told they’d be waiting another 17 hours before they get in. That’s over 24 hours!!! they had ONE doctor and ONE nurse practitioner working. We are leaving and going to a walk in clinic first - they open at 9 or 10 am - in hopes they can do something quicker (if we need to go back to hospital, we will be going to Simcoe). Walk in clinics have more doctors working than the emerg. This is absolutely unacceptable and shameful. DO BETTER.

The very heavy set women who works the front desk was extremely rude, harassed me about why I have not got my covid shot. Then talked to me like a child while I was convulsing. Scolding me and saying my name yelling from Across the room. I was completely embarrassed. Multiple ppl asked her to help me she wouldn’t get off her chair. The nurses where snickering and laughing at me when I was finally taken in. I had passed out from hyperventilating and peed myself they left me in a corner facing the wall wouldn’t not even give me a gown. I vomited in my mask they said I had to keep it on, I asked for a new one they said keep it on. I felt like I was being waterboarded. It was horrible. I started having panic attacks because of the way they where treating me. Turns out my blood pressure was very high and my white blood cells count is high. Waiting on test results. These nurses forgot the signed an oath. I was extremely embarrassed. The Technicians and both Doctors I saw where extremely apologetic.

DO NOT BOTHER GOING TO THIS ER! You are better off going to a walk-in or driving East if it's afterhours. I took my 5-year old on August-25-22 at 10PM & we waited until 5:15AM the next morning. NEVER SAW A DOCTOR so we just decided to leave because staff started telling pple ot would be 8AM before they get seen. For atleast 3.5hrs, I didn't see anyone being called from the waiting area except by a nurse who just kept repeating everyone's vitals. The person who was to go before me had an infant and he gave up and left around 4AM. The staff could care less, probably exhausted too...they offer robotic answers to everyone's questions. This was my 1st & I pray last time there. TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE!
