SHY LOUNGE
Went first time for Saturday Matinee. Music by Dan McVeigh was great but cannot say same for atmosphere and food. The place had a dark smoky feel to it and there were few places to sit. I made the mistake of ordering a hamburger for which I was told there was no mustard available or tomatoes. It was served on a bun that you would find at No Frills. To say it was mediocre would be an understatement. My wife had curried goat however that she rated out of 10.

This was actually my first experience at shy lounge and i couldn’t say nothing but better. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was so welcoming.I think what had thrown me off was a bar tender had thrown a bottle cap very randomly at customers; very unprofessional and uncalled for. Great experience other then that !

We did take out. Fried rice and fried chicken platter. It was very good. And generous portion for what we paid. Leftovers are great. It hit the spot. The rice has a decent amount of veggies which i like, especially the cabbage. It's too bad we live out of town, we won't be able to come here often. Thank you Shy lounge!

Shy Lounge lost a star because:The claimed to be open at 11am on a Thursday but weren’t. Called with no answer (and their answering machine needs setting up too), went there around 11:15 and they were still closed. On a whim called at 11:45am and they were open. Must be part of the “authentic Caribbean experience” being on island time and all.Anyway, the food was delicious. We ordered:Cassava ballsEgg ballsPoulorieSpecial Fried rice.The cassava balls and egg balls were delicious. Outside crispy like home made. Poulorie tastes like its got peas in it. We got some delicious mango (so green its white) sour to go with it.The Fried Rice was fresh and delicious but not “Guyanese Chinese”. More like a neighbourhood creole shop. Lots of fresh vegetables: bora, cabbage and carrots, no corn. Great colour and texture though.Unfortunately they dont cook pork. They are halaal though.Prices are reasonable but $2.50 for an eggball is too much.Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

The music was perfect and the bar it's self was nice inside. The bartender seemed nice as well. I ordered a vodka and cranberry juice and the drink was so small I literally had it gone in 2 sips and I'm not a big drinker at all.. it was literally one shot of vodka and 2 shots of cranberry juice and a couple ice cubes... I paid 13 bucks for 2 drinks and I would have got more in a damn juice box.

Just went to have a drink. Place seemed okay for the moment. Just a Regular bar. Nothing special. If u need a drink n somewhere to go its okay. Seen a few addicts in the place. I mean I understand because of the location but still scary.
