Amazing little pottery store! The attention to detail and craftsmanship of the pieces are beautiful. The staff was incredible, customer service was excellent. We commissioned a few unique pieces and we are THRILLED with the results! We ordered off of the website and did curbside pick up. Amazing experience over all! I will definitely be coming back for more things!!!!

I have taken classes here at Hintonburg pottery and loved it so much that I ended up being a studio Potter for the year I was living in Ottawa. What a great experience. Having the classes help but sometimes you just want the time to explore and try your own pieces in your own time. Being a studio Potter means you can just buy a bunch of credits online and then just use them as you go throughout the week and months. Booking studio time is super easy to set up as it is all electronic! You also get reminded of your time slots in case you forget!I also love the range of glaze colours that they have available here at Hintonburg. Ginger, the owner loves colour so this really helps. So many colour options and I am a huge fan of the sea green, blue, and green combos. Your own issue will be figuring out what to glaze your pieces in!Either way, if you have ever wanted to try your hand at pottery than this is the place to go. The environment is super relaxing and you will always get better! The teachers are great as well. Before you know it you will become as addicted as I and everyone else there to making your own wheelthrown or hand built pottery pieces.

Great place to take a pottery class in Ottawa! The staff is friendly and the design of the place is artistic/hip. My friend and I took a class last week and really enjoyed it. Although it was challenging it was also relaxing/ therapeutic at the same time. Since it was our first time we learned how to make bowls. After you complete your piece they bake it and allow you to choose a glaze of your choice. I can’t wait to see how mine turns out after it’s complete! My only cons would be that they do not provide you with aprons so make sure you wear something you are okay with getting messy and 2 hours felt short. Overall great experience and I will be returning in the future!

We've done two workshops here now and loved both! My boyfriend and I had no prior experience before attending the one-off workshops and we felt really comfortable in the space and felt like they instructors were really supportive gave us confidence to make mistakes and make creative pieces! Our first workshop was a handbuilding Valentine's day workshop (2020)and we made mugs. We still use those mugs on a regular basis. They turned out great and have held up under almost 3 years of use.Tonight we did a Spin the Wheel class and had so much fun! Again, it felt like the right pace for absolute beginners like us. Can't wait to see our final pieces after the glaze!

So much fun!! I've finished two workshops here so far, and will definitely be coming back as soon as possible. The instructors are very patient and willing to help wherever they can. My piece didn't turn out exactly how I envisioned it, but that's what made it even more unique and special.

Such a beautiful place. Came here for a pottery lesson with my mom and had such an amazing experience. We were able to create three different pieces and pick one of our favourites to be finished. Our instructor was Joanna and she was amazing!! Super nice and explained the whole pottery process really well! Cant wait to come back and pick up the finished piece!

My daughter and I took the Beginner 1 Wheel class with a lot of expectations. At the end of the first day, I told teacher Katherine King that my daughter was on the high-functioning autism spectrum and that she was excited about taking the ceramics class with me for the very first time. In the second class, there was an assistant named Sabina (Mrs. King never mentioned that the assistant was supposed to help my daughter), so I assumed that she was there to help the whole class. Sabina was always very gentle and I noticed that she helped my daughter and even helped me out when I needed it as well as some of the other attendees once in a while because if I learned something was thanks to Sabina and not Mrs. King who was sitting most of the time.A Saturday before the last class, I approached Sabina to ask her if I could register myself for the next wheel class (Beginner 2 Wheel), and while she was answering, out of the blue Mrs. King intruded saying these exact words This is not available for your daughter". When she told me this

Inconsistent quality of instruction, expensive, and extra annoying cleanup because they don’t want you to put any clay in sink so won’t even let you wash the clay off your arms. Also you can only pick up the stuff you made between 12-5 pm… oh you work during those hours? Too bad. Oh they have lessons running till 8:30 pm most weekdays so maybe you can stop by then? No. They won’t even open the door for you and if they do they will say it’s impossible for them to help you even if you can see your pottery on the shelf just 2m behind them. They only get some stars for having a nice studio and glazes.
