Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Home - East Branch

I would never recommend this Lahaie & Sullivan funeral home on 1st. street To anyone ever. We were very disgusted and disappointed in the service we received. 1st. The portrait photo and cards of our deer father was not there and only arrived 2 hours later for a 3 hour service. We had to stand there while many of the guest commented to us on that fact. The catering was horrible and discussing. When a couple of our guess WITNESSED THE CATERER PICKING FOOD OFF the FLOOR and TABLE and placing it back into the serving trays. While another guest removed food that had MOLD on it and through it in the garbage.So in short WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN ON 1st. STREET IN CORNWALL .This app won’t let me give this funeral a zero star.

A family members service was held here. The service itself was good and the staff seemed very attentive. A few things did bother me though. My spouse and I were questioned by staff about parking in a accessible parking space. We are a younger couple so I guess they assumed we were abusing the space, they even offered to move my car for me. I'm sorry, no one touches my car and people shouldn't make assumptions. The wheel chair ramp at the front of the building is a joke! You can barely fit a stroller on it, it has no railing, and you have to maneuver on top of the top step so you can turn and enter the building. If someone were to come out of that door really fast someone could get hurt. The carpeting in the place is dated and could be changed out to a different colour that is more neutral. I got locked in the bathroom right as a family members service was about to start! Not at all funny! The television in the one viewing room is a first generation flat screen while the others are newer/nicer flat screens, they could at least have put in the effort to make things match. The viewing room attached to the chapel has paint peeling off it's walls. At the beginning of the service family members were asked by a male staff member to move back to accommodate members of an organization that was attending out of courtesy for a member who had passed. Regardless of a organizations importance in the community they are not more important than family and friends of the deceased. Personally I would never use this funeral home as it does not meet my standard of quality.

They made everything much more easier and took some of the weight off our shoulders. Everything was handled in a timely manner and with such great compassion. Thank u so much

Lori and all the Lahaie and Sullivan staff definitely went above and beyond in our time of loss. They took the time to explain everything to us in great detail. When we arrived for the wake early we were surprised to find the room set up exactly as my son would have loved it..
