Ottawa Valley Meats

We just got our first delivery and we love it! We have a small chest freezer and everything fit in without a problem. The order was packed just as we were told it would be. We cooked up some of the Ribeye steaks on the BBQ last night and couldn't believe the quality! They melted right in our mouth. Can't wait to try the rest of it. So convenient having everything here ready to go. Can't beat the price either!

This is the real deal: pasture-raised (grass-fed) beef at an affordable price. Ordered 20 steaks and couldn't be happier. The meat is really tender and flavourful. The first thing that strikes you is the colour. It's a really dark and reminds me of moose meat my friend would bring from up north. The vacuum seal is great for that freshness and for freezing obviously. I didn't expect it to be so tender and juicy though. It sounds like I'm paid to write this, I know, but... just buy it.Just be careful not to overcook. It's leaner and will cook a bit faster.

I ordered from them twice during the summer, great quality at a fair price. I ordered for a 3rd time late fall - a order of 25 lbs of ground beef. When I received it it was not as visually appealing as the first orders but not enough to complain about IMO. about a week later I get an email from them stating that I may have rec'd my order from a batch that did not meet their standards, reassuring me it was safe and also offering to exchange it and throw in 2 nice steaks for my trouble.That is what I call proactive customer service, realizing there was a potential problem and reaching out to fix it, not waiting in case someone complained. That is what creates brand loyalty. That act moved me from being a customer to fan of the company.Great job guys!!!PS steaks were amazing

This morning I booked an appointment, and by 4pm this afternoon we had the pleasure of sitting down with Glen. Glen was very knowledgeable and has a great understanding of the meat and the farming process. We were very impressed to see how connected Ottawa Valley Meats were with their local farmers. We were presented with everything we needed to know about cost and quantity as well as quality. Our order was placed this evening and we were able to change a few last minute substitutions with ease! Thank you for taking the time to share your passion and your awesome business! Looking forward to stocking my freezer next week!

We received great customer service from Ottawa Valley Meats in the past until recently. They're just too busy now. The last order we received was not frozen, - after being sold on 'the difference that flash frozen makes'. There is no point in bulk ordering meat if it is not flash frozen. We complained when we received the order, asked why it was not flash frozen (one of their selling points) and it was clear that they did not care - their exact response was that they're too busy to flash freeze the meat right now and that it was not important in the quality (chilling was more important). I reached out to the manager, Glen, and we arranged for a phone call to discuss the matter, and he never called me on our agreed upon appointment for the phone call. Yes the meat is good quality, but when the price is not any better than the grocery store, nor cheaper than Costco, and it isn't flash frozen, it just isn't worth buying in bulk. There is really no such thing as hormone free" or "antibiotic free" meat (all meat has to meet the same standards). It is a myth that meat is pumped up full of water to make it look bigger. We know that already

The meat quality is absolutely amazing! Whether it's beef, pork or poultry you just can't go wrong. The price is a bit high but the end product is so worth it. I strongly recommend any all meat lovers to try it at least once in your life time and see what I'm talking about.

The beef, chicken, and pork are amazing. The steaks are unbelievable.The processed meats, like sausages and bacon, are ok, but not amazing like the raw cuts. I would not order them again and instead get more chicken.The price was fair and the quantity was not overwhelming. It strikes the balance very nicely for our family, leaving plenty of freezer space.

Love our meats! Great products from local farms. Individual packaging is wonderful for thawing specific quantities & cuts. As you see in the photo, our order was not small (a little larger than we had hoped) - so have some room in your freezer.But compared to another meat vendor we previously purchased from, the price at Ottawa Valley Meats is far more reasonable. Thank you Darius for the transparency in your service and the flexibility in the ordering process.
