Ottawa Jazz Festival

I enjoyed every minute of the festival, especially when volunteering. Lots of fascinating people coming together with a shared love of music and community.

The Ottawa Jazz festival provides world class entertainment for all music tastes. The vendors and the experience are second to none. Attendees of all ages are sure to enjoy their experience. The festival is organized as and we'll put together. The jazz festival in Ottawa generously contributes to some of the charities that I volunteer for.

Very rude employees. You should put more youth in music festival. Not just some old ladies

OJF 2022The jazz fest was absolutely amazing! It was such a great atmosphere and the line up was fantastic. I'll go back to this festival year after year.I definitely recommend checking out concerts both at the outdoor stages and the indoor stages at the NAC. You'll get to see a lot of different kinds of music that way. Also check out the late night jamming sessions at Grill 41! I didn't expect to see such great musicians there too.Out of the 18 shows I saw at the OJF this year, I would say that the best were Julian Lage Trio, Tord Gustavsen Trio, Kamasi Washington, and the Punch Brother, in that order. If you have the opportunity to see any of these musicians at any venue (Julian in particular), definitely jump on it!OJF 2023 (UPDATE)While I didn't think this years line-up was quite as good as the previous year, I still thoroughly enjoyed the 2023 jazz fest! My general note was that if you are attending the jazz fest to listen to more real jazz music and less there for the atmosphere/big names, try to catch the indoor shows at the NAC. While I enjoyed Feist, Lord Huron, etc. immensely on the main stage, they aren't really what I would expect at the jazz fest.

Terrible sound quality. Massive distortion. Speakers and amps driven past saturation.

Greetings ,For many years we have enjoyed attending events at the Ottawa Jazz Fest . Last night we were at Confederation Park . The performers were great and the crowd seemed to be enjoying it . That is until a pothead and his girl friend decided they would get move over to the seated area and do their drug infested arm waving in front of dozens of people . There were numerous confrontations and eventually security had them move away but not before they flipped the bird to many people (seniors for the most part) . Not to be outdone our valiant pot-head tried to sneak back up front but chose the wrong route . He approached between my partner and another gent who quickly grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and slammed him to the ground . He scampered off only to return again with two women who appeared as high as he was . They once again annoyed some folks and there was pushing and shoving . This was the end of the performance and for those of us in the line of sight it put a damper on what had been a great performance .You need better security . We stopped attending Blue fest because of ignorant folks . I was looking for a wristband on Pothead's wrist but there was none to be seen .

Best OJF so far. Jazz diehards enjoyed NAC performances. Popular genres in the park for everyone including those who enjoy standing thru a performance.

Went to see Melody Gardot. Had premium seats front row. Photographers blocked the view for the entire first song. Irritating. Some tried to crouch down so as not to block the view but others didn’t bother. They need to be relegated to the sides of the stage. Concert was awesome despite the photographers and the torrential rains. Melody kept performing until she was asked to stop due to lightening.
