If your reading this there is a good chance you are suffering the loss of a loved one like I was. Hiring South Side Memorial Chapel was the only easy part of our family's loss.The chapel was warmly lit & has a nice welcoming atmosphere.Eden was very professional, transparent, empathetic, & knowledgeable.My family was treated with dignity and respect.South Side Memorial Chapel were very accommodating for all of the things we had requested in our service.I would recommend trusting your family members with Eden & his team if you are in need of a funeral home.During the planning there were items/tasks brought up and discussed that were not even something we thought of, it was almost like having a first timers guide to holding a service for a loved one.

When our father recently passed, South Side Memorial Chapel was there to guide us through. It was an emotional time for the family and they were very patient and accommodating as we made several changes to the memorial service. The service went smoothly. The flowers, music and reception was as we expected. There were no surprises. After the service a folder was provided with pre-printed letters and forms required for my mother. This made things so that much easier for us. A big thanks to Heather Martin.

Absolutely 5 star service from Eden and the team at South Side Memorial. We were on a time crunch and they made everything run smoothly. The attention to detail and suggestions for catering helped to make the funeral less sad and more enjoyable as an event. Guests were commenting on what a 'good job' we did as a family.........I think the family included the staff at South Side :)

South Side Chapel was professional, no pressure, and had excellent communication. Kristie was extremely compassionate, friendly, and made the process straight forward and smooth.

South Side Memorial Chapel helped us through quite a tough time for me and my family. Not only were they compassionate, they were very understanding when it came to the post life process and provided materials to us to help is not only through grieving, but also packets and guidance that helped us through paperwork we would need to file out after someone passes away.The visitation room was nicely set up and even though it was hard to see Dad in a suit in a coffin for myself, he looked good and respectful. I appreciate Heather and the rest of the team for how much they helped with the funeral process.The memorial service was nice, the clergyman was very good, and though slight audio issues with the service at times, everything was great for the service itself.Though the situations again would be a bad thing (cause that means someone else died) my family and I would definitely go with Side Side Memorial Chapel again. Thank you for everything.

Words cannot express how much I appreciate Eden and his team in helping us to celebrate my beloved mother's life. We had the funeral prearranged years ago when she moved to home. It really helped me to cope with the stress and the pain of emotional loss. Eden is a very compassionate, professional and highly organized person. A BIG thumb up. The warm and comfort of the building is another welcoming figure of this funeral home. It must have the best natural light of all the funeral homes in Edmonton.

The staff took great care in guiding and helping us through this most difficult time. We sure appreciate all that was done in a caring and timely manner.

I am very disappointed with South Side Memorial Chapel. We used them in November for my Dad's burial. We paid all bills immediately, including the city cemetery fees, only to hear from the city today that South Side Memorial Chapel has NOT paid the city the fees! We paid that money to South Side Memorial, but the funeral home kept the money and now the city is asking for it. This is very upsetting to hear months later that South Side Memorial has been so neglectful and disorganized. I would never recommend this company.

South Side Memorial Chapel helped our family honor our loved one with a Celebration of Life ceremony. It was our family’s first time having to go through this and Heather Martin took care of us from the start and was so understanding, respectful, and compassionate.During our first meeting with Heather, we were very emotional with the loss of our loved one, and she guided us with such caring through such major decisions. We never felt any pressure to do anything and instead we were able to make choices that gave us peace. She explained every charge clearly and there was no pressure to go outside the financial costs we were comfortable with. She was also accommodating with the opportunity for us to say goodbye. From the first meeting to the ceremony, all communication with her was so thorough and detailed.The Celebration of Life ceremony was handled excellently by all the staff. We were given plenty of time to personalize and decorate their beautiful chapel. They were all on top of things that we would turn away and look back next minute and they had it all handled and even better than how we left it. They took care of our guests and us so well. They made sure the whole process was efficient that our family did not have anything to worry about that day except for honoring our loved one. Even at the end, they had gathered our things and packaged them all with much care. I also have to mention that the sunlight streaming into the chapel area was what led us to choose South Side Memorial initially and, on that day, with the whole experience we had with the team as well, it really cemented how it was the perfect choice.We are thankful to have chosen South Side Memorial Chapel. Special thank you to everyone there, especially Heather, for being amazing during this difficult chapter of our lives.
