Vergotes Poultry & Fish Market

I was told their shrimp was as good as the old Dott and Ettas shirmp hut from back in the day and it truly was. Very tasty, lightly battered and the price was very reasonable. Some of the other shrimp huts are really taking advantage of raising prices on the seafood. Go try them you will not be disappointed.

I have been coming here for years now. Fish and chicken is always fresh. Reasonable prices as well. Food is pretty good that they sell too. Definitely one of my go to spots. Check them out y’all!!

Friendly service when you come to the desk to place your order. They have specials that you can come in to purchase and enjoy. I only came in for 3pcs of perch. And might I say that it was delicious. Nice and hot, very fresh and they make sure you have your bread and condiments all before you leave. Service was quick.

It’s a great place in my neighborhood and very convenient. Staff has always been kind as I have a customer for years. Their seafood gumbo is really good and I love their shrimp. Definitely give them a try

Bought 2 orange roughy dinners. Fish was good with the lemon pepper. Their tartar sauce is delicious. Cleanliness not so good , the place is dirty and smells really bad. I almost ran out on my over the phone other when I walked in. The stench was a huge turn off and place was filthy. But I knew that wasn’t the right thing to do. The food was actually good though and seemed to be fresh. Fish and seafood display needs lots of love and cleaning. Clean the place and the displays that would be so much better for business. I was really turned off by the stench and dirt. I will give another chance, but if the store is dirty and stinky as it was today, I will not patronize this business again. Please just clean it up food good. But place is filthy. Sorry for this review but I just tell the truth. Customer service was excellent.

Purchased a whole Pickerel at 2.61lbs. I had it filleted and fried as a dinner purchase. The food was good but I don’t think we received all the meat off the bones. The fillets were very thin, thinner than the orders I get from my other favorite fish markets. My husband and I was giving this place a try since it’s closer to our home. I’m not sure if we’ll be returning.
