James Electric

Great company, would highly recommend

To start off, I have been an electrician for 30 years. I currently own a home in Whitby that James Electric has wired. Wow what a bunch of hacks. I have changed my switches and plugs only to find wires that have been stripped with a utility knife and then patched with tape because the knife slipped and scraped off more insulation than needed to jam into the back of the device. Kitchen exhaust fans and vanity lights have no connectors on them, the feeds are just sticking through the knockouts. I would not be surprised to hear about a James Electric house burning down. I had to put 1 star because I could not post with negative.

I had a chandelier to install and Jaimie came recommended. I reached out to him, provided all the details and pictures of the chandelier as he requested and he gave me a quote and we set up a time for him to install the light. The day came and unfortunately he admitted to underestimating the time and work to go into installing the chandelier. He was quite frustrated and asked to re negotiate cost. I agreed. The soent the full day working on the loght and it still wasn't fone. He did give me his word that he would come back however he never did despite bumerous emails i had sent him. I now have a chandelier that is not complete and i am not stuck trying to find someone else who will conplete the job. I understand that he may have underestimated the work and time, however i did prob9de him with all the details and pictures prior to. Despite hos disappointment, i shouldnt be left with a an incomplete job. Otherwise he was very nice to deal with, and even went out to buy bulbs for the chandelier as we didnt have the right ones. Be knows his stuff, and is friendly however thr fact that i am left with an incomplete job, is a huge inconvenience for us.
